This game also bears the title “The Vegas Job”, hinting at some sort of giant casino heist in the process.

Back in Business

City Life 2 has a brand new narrative that works as an upgrade from the original City Life slot game. After the city slums, our favourite mobsters have stepped up their game and moved to Las Vegas to try and catch bigger fish there. The reels are floating on a representation of the iconic Vegas strip and its bright neon signs.

In terms of aesthetics, City Life 2 has the same visual feel as the first game in the series, which is great news. The distinctive comic book look works wonders in these new urban settings, the characters just pop out on the screen and the game is giving players a very cool universe to explore, overall.

Time to Make Some Money

In City Life 2, you will have to deal with 5 reels and 20 fixed paylines. Head on to the command bar under the reels to choose a wager, which has to fall on the large 0.20 to 200.00 per turn betting scale. This really gives players a lot of freedom to just experiment a little and see how the game feels before adjusting their wager. You always have the option to skip ahead and go all-in with the bet max button, or turn on the autospin game mode at any time.

City Life 2 has rather average settings, with a medium volatility and a 95.05% – a little low, but nothing to worry about. We managed to score very nice prizes fairly early into the game, by lining up original reel symbols such as bombs, guns, bags of cash, sports cars or one of the 5 thugs that you already know from City Life, first of the name. You can win a top prize of x2000 in the base game, but we are just getting started here.

Double the Bonuses, Double the Fun

City Life 2 is offering more bonus features than its predecessor did. First of all, you can choose to activate the exclusive 2-way win mode to allow winning combinations to be valid not only from left to right, but also from right to left on the paylines. This will cost you 25% per spin, but this could be a necessary sacrifice at times. On the other hand, the signature double wild feature from 888 is still alive and kicking: you therefore get a standard wild to replace the basic symbols, and a rarer x3 wild that does the same and multiplies every prize by 3 in the process.

The scatters are a little elusive in City Life 2, but landing 3 or more of the anywhere on the screen can unlock up to 30 free spins instantly. Also a rare occurrence, lining up 3 bonus symbols on a payline triggers the City Life 2 bonus round, where you get to help the gang scam the unsuspecting casino goers and win extra cash prizes or multipliers in the process.

A Great Sequel, with Some Innovations

City Life 2 is like City Life on steroids, with added bonuses, sleeker graphics and smoother animations overall. The design and characters that we loved in the first game are back, and we loved playing with them on this virtual Vegas strip.

City Life 2 felt a little more challenging than its predecessor, with slightly tougher bonus features – but also larger prizes available. Overall, this is a very worthy sequel to an excellent game that is guaranteed to have an impact.
