Book of Fortune Slot

Wizards and witches, magic and myth: Book of Fortune has got it all. This slot game from Amatic will keep you on the edge of your seat as you explore the enchanted castle. Its engaging gameplay will certainly cast a spell on you.

The game makes the most of its five reels, each of which contains three rows, by delivering ten lucrative paylines. As is often the case with Amatic titles, wins pay left to right so keep your eyes peeled from reel 1 rightwards. With stakes ranging from 0.10 to 20.00 per line, there is something to keep all players biting their nails in the hope for some good wins.

The Book of Fortune offers very similar gameplay and style to a similarly-named title; the Book of Aztec. If you have ever played that slot game from Amatic then you will recognise the standard format from this development team: enjoyable graphics that can be categorised as traditional rather than contemporary, shall we say, and then there are the usual bleeps and claps when you spin the reels and pick up a winning combination.

Magic Moments

There is a collection of symbols to look out for in the Book of Fortune that are all related in some way to magical mystery and wizardry. At the basic level, though, there are those playing card symbols, and these are broken down into two categories and pay at the following denominations (based on a bet on ten coins):

Queen, Jack & Ten pay 5 for matching three on your reels, 25 for four and 100 for five.

Ace & King pay 5 for matching three on your reels, 40 for four and 150 for five.

Next up in our selection of symbols we have two wise old owls: literally, in the case of the Owl symbol, and then the powerful Wizard too. These both pay 5 coins for matching two, 30 coins for three, 100 coins for four and finally 750 coins for picking up five. This is a pretty generous return for what is a mid-level symbol.

Next in the food chain of symbols in Book of Fortune is the Enchanted Castle is a nice little earner on your reels; paying from 5 coins (for matching two) right up to 2,000 for the full five. And taking top billing of all the main game symbols is the Princess, who returns a top prize of a very handsome 5,000 coins.

Fortune Favours the Brave

The wild and scatter symbol are both the same in the Book of Fortune. This symbol, which is the Book of Fortune coincidentally, offers not one, not two, but three benefits to players.

Firstly, it pays up to 2,000 coins for matching on our reels (nice). Secondly, it will substitute for all other symbols on the game board to help create winning combinations (very nice). For example, if you three Kings, then a wild and then another King then the winning line is completed.

Thirdly, but by no means least, the Book of Fortune symbol will trigger the Bonus Round and reward players with ten free spins whenever three or more of them appear (super nice).

At the beginning of the free spins Bonus Round, a symbol will be selected to act as your expanding wild – which rewards players according to the denominations in the paytable. The beauty of this bonus feature is that all wins will be paid on active paylines regardless of whether the symbols in question appear on consecutive reels or not!

This Bonus Round can also be re-triggered too should you spin more of the Book of Fortune symbol, so keep your fingers crossed for that.

Make Your Own Fortune

While you won’t win a life-changing sum of money from the Book of Fortune like you might playing a progressive game, the top prize from the base game of 5,000 coins is still a handsome reward for your efforts.

And while the Book of Fortune hasn’t revolutionised the online slot game industry, it is still a solid title with plenty of replay value. The free spins bonus is a welcome addition as always, but we have to put Amatic on the naughty step for not incorporating a separate scatter symbol. There is, however, still much to admire in a game that proves that magic can come in ordinary forms.
