Love is in the Air
Casanova boasts four sets of symbols in the main game, plus a wild and a bonus. First things first, let’s take a look at those bread and butter symbols. At the bottom of the pile are the four things that any good womaniser needs: the Doves, a glass of red wine for Dutch courage, a Rose and a Fan. These all pay 10 coins for matching three, 20 coins for four and a tidy 100 coins for five.
Then there are the two symbols that represent romance in all its glory: the Lovebird and Cupid. Match three of each of these and you will earn 20 coins, four pays 40 and five earns a rather lovely 200.
Take a romantic trip on a Gondola in Venice and you will earn the admiration of your partner as well as plenty of financial rewards: three pays 25 coins, four pays 50 and five pays 250 coins.
The last of the main game symbols is Casanova’s harem of women – there’s a brunette, a blonde and a redhead for all tastes, and these offer plenty of lucrative rewards. There’s 50 coins for matching three, 100 for four and 500 coins for spinning five in a row.
Casanova himself is wild (in more ways than one), and he unlocks plenty of prizes for you to enjoy. Firstly, he’ll hand you 100 coins for spinning a trio, 500 coins for a quartet and 1,000 coins for a quintet. He’ll even substitute for any other symbol on the board (apart from the Bonus) to create additional wins: he can turn twos into threes, threes into fours and fours into those highly lucrative five matching symbols.
Then there’s the bonus symbol, which is the Masquerade Mask, and this has two benefits for players. Spin three (20 coins), four (200 coins) or five (2,000 coins) of this symbol for some tremendous base game prizes, and also enjoy ten free spins on the house for spinning three of the Bonus symbol anywhere on your reels.
Keep playing your freebies until you have none left; and hope to accumulate a nice little kitty which will be added to your balance. If you’re lucky, you might even just re-trigger the Bonus round with ten or more spins.
And as with pretty much all of the Amatic titles, you can even gamble your winning spins with the aim of doubling or even quadrupling your prize. Guess the colour or the suit of the card for the win, and remember you can roll this over three times too.
You’ll love stepping into the shoes of Casanova; even if it is just for a few spins of the reels! Love will truly be in the air if you scoop one of the big money prizes in the game, and you may well just end up kissing the screen of your laptop, computer or tablet if you net the jackpot!
As ever with Amatic, we can’t file any review of one of their games without mentioning the flaws that are inherent in their titles. No scatter symbol is a letdown, a lack of animations will disappoint the modern brigade of slot gamers who are used to the visual party pieces of other developers, and the biggest prize on offer – 2,000 coins – is healthy but not industry leading.
