In designing Lovely Lady, Amatic have elected to throw a bit of everything into the mix. Whatever you’re into – playing cards; horseshoes; clover; mushrooms; lovely ladies – you’ll find it in this eclectic 5-reel slot.

There’s no rule stating that slots have to have a consistent theme running through them, and Lovely Lady is proof of that. Okay, so that’s perhaps being a little unfair: fortune is the overarching theme here, but the incongruous symbols ensure there’s little harmony to be found on the reels.

Still, if you’ve ever dreamed of playing a slot where dark-haired vixens can nestle alongside poisonous toadstools and basic pink pigs, this is your slot. Give it a spin and prepare to fall in love. For everyone else, prepare to be more than a little perplexed.

Standard Controls

Amatic are the Austrian developer behind Lovely Lady, and they’re sticklers for the “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” way of thinking. Even the names of their games are derivative. From the company that brought you Lady Joker and Lucky Bells, have a mashup of the two: Lovely Lady of course.

If the lady is meant to be Irish, then this is an Irish-themed game thanks to the golden horseshoes and four-leaf clover. Otherwise, your guess is as good as anyone’s.

There are two ways to set the number of active paylines and the bet level: using the controls beneath the reels or clicking either side of the reels, whereupon a bar will appear that can be increased or reduced using the plus and minus symbols. The game’s 10 paylines can be set and there’s also an auto play button plus a gamble button that can be activated whenever it lights up. This will occur once a win has been notched on the reels.

What a Winker

Spin the reels and a number of animations will be triggered the moment a winning combo lands on an active payline. The pink pig will spin around, the playing card symbols will do a little dance, a sprinkling of fairy dust will be liberally applied and as for the lucky lady the game is named after? She winks.

That’s right, she winks at you. The first time it happens, it’s kinda saucy, but keep staring at her and she keeps winking and it soon gets creepy and more than a little awkward. To end the winking stand-off, hit start again or press gamble to dive into the feature.

The gamble feature which seems to appear in all of Amatic’s slots is a simple red or black card gamble. Alternatively, you can try and guess the next suit to quadruple your money instead of merely doubling it. Get it wrong, of course, and you lose it all.

Look for the Lady

The hodgepodge of symbols to be found in Lovely Lady include basic playing card values, the pig which is worth 800 for 5 in line and the clover and horseshoe, each of which are worth 500 for 5. The toadstool and ladybird are worth a more respectable 1,500 for 5, while the lucky lady commands 5,000 for and 18,000 for 5.

This seductress has additional powers, however, for she’s a wild one, substituting for all symbols except for scatter and applying a 2x multiplier in the process.

Scatter Matters

Scatter appears as a crystal ball, 5 of which are worth 10,000. Land 3-5 scatters in view to activate the bonus spins feature. Any wins you’re awarded here will be accompanied by a 3x multiplier. It’s possible to land more scatters during the bonus game and this will retrigger the feature. If lady luck is smiling upon you and the crystal ball is indicating good times ahead, it’s fair to assume you’ll be seeing a lot of bonus spins during your time spent playing this game.

Lovely by Name, Lovely by Nature

Lovely Lady is a slightly confused slot from Amatic whose theme, while clearly fortune-based, could have used some work. Never mind: in action it proves to be pretty entertaining, and thanks to the wilds, scatters and gamble feature, there are plenty of ways to win other than spinning reels interminably. Low on volatility and high on garishness, Lovely Lady is a sight to behold.
