Land of the Gods
Ancient Egypt was well known for being a time when many gods ruled with an iron hand and the people lived in fear of the consequences of disobedience. The pharaohs were regarded as demigods themselves and accumulated vast hoards of gold and treasure which in many cases disappeared with them when they died. In Ramses Book your goal is to rediscover some of the cash waiting to be claimed while negotiating some of the most iconic Egyptian images such as the falcon-headed god Horus and the sacred feline Bastet.
Once you’re ready to start venturing further into the depths of Ramses pyramid, you’ll need to set up your betting preferences so you don’t instantly blow your budget. There are 5 reels and up to 10 paylines, although these can be reduced to just five lines if you prefer. There are no other increments available so the options are very limited, but at least there’s some flexibility if you do prefer to reduce what you’re playing with.
You can also adjust the value of the coin too; this is set per payline so you’ll need to remember to multiply up the value to get the total cost of spinning the reels. You won’t need to work this out yourself as the game will display the total bet right next to the control panel where you can make the adjustments. The minimum coin value per line is just 0.01 and the maximum is 0.6. This gives only a very limited range of betting with a total min bet of 0.10 and a total max bet of 6.00.
Dearth of Deluxe Features
The theme of the slot is one of the things which can make it stand out from the crowd, and the other is the features included in play. Unfortunately Bally Wulff isn’t renowned for adding lots of extras to the reels, and this game is no exception. There is a wild which helps to make matches on the reels but it can also activate the scatter bonus too if you land three or more.
The scatter bonus isn’t a true additional feature but gives you 10 free games. Before these games begin the book icon will open up and a random symbol will be displayed on a page. This becomes a scatter during the free spins and can reward you by acting as an expanding wild, helping you to win more.
If Ramses Book by Bally Wulff is an enjoyable play, you might want to choose some of the many other Egyptian themed slots to play on. There’s a huge selection to browse through but a game that’s similar to this is the highly-regarded Book of Ra Deluxe from Novomatic. With 5 reels and 10 paylines, it offers an RTP of 94.26% which isn’t quite as good as the 96% on Ramses Book, but it is possible to bet higher for a bigger return.
Ramses on the Reels
This online video slot from Bally Wulff makes a welcome return to Egypt for a popular genre that’s always a big hit. Ramses Book executes the theme well, with graphics that are sharp and crystal clear and offer a real depth and clarity without ever being 3D or revolutionary. However, despite the sharp appearance, this game offers little for those who are more experienced or prefer to bet high.
As with many Bally Wulff titles, there’s a lack of features to drum up extra interest and the betting range for this game is also tight. This combined with the good RTP means that Ramses Book will be far better suited to novices and low rollers.
