Stunning Scandinavia

Although the Vikings have the reputation of being one of the fiercest groups of people through the ages, in this game you’ll have a newfound appreciation for the natural beauty of the land from whence they came. The graphics for The Land of Heroes are simply spectacular showcasing the high peaks covered by forest and trees and rolling green landscape. A cool climate with swirls of mist settling in the valleys, there’s an eerie gentleness to the home of the Vikings which is nothing short of seductive.

Scope out the Target

The Vikings were such a success because they knew exactly what and who they were targeting, and were ruthless about carrying out a mission. You can follow their example by heading over to the paytable first to plan what you want to smash and grab. You can navigate to and from the main screen at any point by clicking on the “paytable” button.

Other than the top two value symbols, you’ll need a match of at least three on the reels in order to win. For the Viking man and woman, you’ll only need a match of two.  The more symbols you line up the bigger your prize will be, with five being the maximum you can line up. There are 10 different symbols you could land including a raven, a Viking man and woman, a shield and a sword.

Go  Marauding!

When you’ve finished checking out the loot that you might be able to grab, it’s time to head out for yourself and try and pick up some prizes. There are 5 reels to play on which are set out in a standard 5×3 layout and include 20 paylines. As with many Ballywulff games, you won’t be able to pick and choose exactly how many paylines you play with but you can drop the number by half if you prefer, playing with 10 instead of 20.

As well as the paylines you’ll also need to decide how much you want to spend on each spin, and set the coin value accordingly. The coin is valued per line so don’t forget to look at the overall cost of each bet before proceeding. The minimum is 50 and the cap is 2500, giving an equivalent min bet of 1000 and a total max bet of 50,000.

Loot the Treasure Box

Playing on the slots means trying to grab as many cash prizes as you can but in this game you could be disappointed with the lack of bonus features that are on offer. The long-haired Viking elder is the wild, stepping in for other symbols on the reels to make it easier to make a match. There’s also a scatter which hands out 7 free games for landing three or more anywhere on the reels. In the free spins you could receive up to four extra wilds too.

Discover the Vikings

If you’ve enjoyed your time with the Viking folk in The Land of Heroes, you might want to check out more games which feature the same. Viking Age from Betsoft is a very popular game first released in 2011 which features high quality graphics combined with 5 reels and 30 paylines. And with a medium volatility, the gaming experience between the two slots is likely to be very similar.

Indulge Your Senses

The Land of Heroes by Bally Wulff is an online video slot which allows the player to become immersed in a fantasy universe, with graphics which look so real you’ll feel you can reach out and touch them. There’s a lack of features but this isn’t uncommon for Bally Wulff games and the popularity of the genre may well make up for it.
