Bally Wulff now ranks as one of the leading online casino software developers from Germany, as the brand’s games are expanding beyond the shores of Deutschland.

What is helping Bally Wulff gain traction (and attention for that matter), is the fact that they aren’t afraid to create slot games that deliver “big time” gambling experiences. Keeping that trend alive is new game Thor’s Hammer, a title that showcases plenty of rumble and thunder to say the very least.

Thor is a pretty common slots game theme these days, as developers are certainly eager to make use of its “open” license. But while Thor themed games are a dime a dozen, finding one that brings the lightning is no easy feat. Bally Wulff has now thrown its name into the ring with the release of Thor’s Hammer.

Direct from Norse Mythology

In design Thor’s Hammer is a bit of a dark horse, as it steers clear of over the top graphics. With a Norse god theme it would have been easy for Bally Wulff to throw out a whole host of clichés, so it’s great to see that they’ve gone in another direction. Thor’s Hammer makes use a dark blue backdrop, with the gold-laced logo taking pride and place at the top of the screen.

The reels and symbols within Thor’s Hammer look just as lavish, as they are placed against what looks like pieces of beige scroll. The actual symbols all have a larger than life appearance to them. For example, Thor’s hammer appears to jump off the screen.

Visually, there is a lot to like about Thor’s Hammer, as the game is well animated and well constructed.

20 or 40, but Nowhere In-Between

Gameplay probably isn’t the strong suit of a Thor’s Hammer, but it certainly isn’t a poor showing either. Betting starts at just 0.20, with the max bet being a noticeably large 150.00. With these betting levels players can mix things up as they please, but that isn’t what works to make this game different.

Payline wise players simply have a choice of using either 20 or 40. No in-betweens and no manual selection, you will have to go big or small here. In terms of RTP, Thor’s Hammer offers up a fair 96.09%.

The base game top prize in the game is a cool 3,000 credits, so its probably not the most bumper jackpot you are likely to come across, but it’s not one that you are likely to turn down anytime soon. What this also does is allow Thor’s Hammer to slide seamlessly into the medium volatility genre.

Hammering Home the Action

Thor’s Hammer is able to “hammer” home the action through a selection of bonus features. Now, if you have come to this game expecting to experience the best of the best in mini-games, get ready to feel a little disappointed. The paytable shows that the bonuses offered here are mostly traditional.

The scatter symbol is represented by the mighty Thor’s hammer, with three linking players to 10x free spins, plus some additional stacked wilds. Adding to that, the Thor logo is the wild symbol, with this stepping in to replace other symbols in the game to create a winning combination.

Ready, Set, Freeze!

The final bonus feature is “Freeze Spins”. Notoriously tricky to get hold of, in order to unlock this you need to land a four of a kind on reel one. When you manage to do this the reel locks in place and your winning potential skyrockets. If you really want to take Thor’s Hammer for that it’s worth, the “Freeze Spins” feature is something that you’re going to want to get a hold of.

Thor’s Hammer Brings Players Norse Inspired Slots Action!

Norse focused online slot games are hardly uncommon, as it appears that every casino software developer is attempting to create something along such lines. The problem is that most of these games fall under the term duds all too often. Enter Thor’s Hammer, a game from Bally Wulff that certainly comes as a pleasant surprise.

It features a well-crafted design, a few enticing bonus features, and a selection of payouts, and for that reason we think that Thor’s Hammer does the Norse theme proud.
