As the name suggests, Jewels World is all about precious stones cascading on the screen and forming special winning combinations. The background itself shows crystals and some more jewels with discrete command menus on the side to let players admire the smooth animations and crisp graphics without any distraction at all. Jewels World is obviously a very classic slot game, with not much in terms of originality when it comes to the game universe itself. That being said, the game benefits from a modern makeover and we really liked how shiny all these jewels were.
An Avalanche of Jewels
Jewels World has a regular setup of 5 reels and 20 paylines, with a decent betting range going from 0.20 to 50 credits per turn. All of these settings can be adjusted in the pop-up menus on the sides of the game screen, putting you in charge of the level of risk that you are willing to work with. Each win also gives you the possibility to play that classic gamble game to double your prize instantly by guessing the colour of a hidden card.
Each winning combination disappears from the reels after triggering a cash prize, which leaves space for new jewels to cascade down and perhaps unlock more cash in the process. Each successive win comes with an increasing multiplier, starting from x2 as soon as you score 2 prizes in a row. The variance is quite average in Jewels World, giving you a very good chance to score some exciting winning streaks. Apart from a few jewels, the paytable also contains a golden chalice, a diadem and a crown with a top prize of x25.
A Little Help Is Always Welcome
To help you out on the reels, the Beefee developers have added two special symbols in Jewels World, which proved very useful to us when we tested the game. The first one of them is the gold bar, which plays the part of the wild card and will considerably boost your chances to score a win by substituting for any of the basic symbols in the game.
The treasure chests will line up across the reels to award a free spin bonus, which consists of 15 free games with a x3 multiplier applied to all wins. All you have to do is find a combination of 3 chests on the reels at any time while playing Jewels World.
Classic Settings on the Market
Slot games like Christmas Charms by Booongo or Mysteries of Notre Dame from Playson are both based on similar settings and look like Jewels World quite a bit with their 20-payline, drop-based gameplay. If you are more into precious stones generally speaking, check out Jewel Action from Novomatic and see how you far in a more classic slot game with just 10 paylines at your disposal.
A Very Decent Re-Edition
Jewels World might stick to a classic look, the graphics and gameplay are definitely very modern. We really liked how smooth the game ran and how easy it was for us to customise our bet settings in the menus. Jewels World is a very intuitive experience, and even if the individual rewards are not as generous as in most other slots, the chain reaction feature and its multipliers can make up for that quite easily.
