Getting Started

This crime scene slot is like none you’ll have played before and even though you’ll have the usual set up – which is 5 reels and 30 paylines in this game – there’s far more to Who Spun It? than simply spinning the reels. The short animated sequence at the start sets the tone for the interactive approach, and then as the gameboard loads, you’ll notice some instructions which appear before you begin.

You’ll start with just over a minute on the clock, and this will start to run down the minute you hit the spin button. Once it reaches zero, detective mode will commence. It’s up to you to collect coins on the run up to detective mode to give you the best chance of solving the crime. Collecting stars by landing winning combinations will help you unlock clues. The more matching symbols in any winning combination, the more stars you’ll win!

You can look over the evidence you’ve collected at any point in the game by clicking on the file on the bottom left. But beware! The timer won’t stop or slow down when you’re reviewing the evidence, so don’t dally too long.

Choose Your Character

When you win a clue spin, you’ll need to choose which character you want but think carefully before you pick as each has different knowledge. There’s the housemaid Miss Ellie, Dr Van Austren, rich heir Mr Wellington, flirty seductress Miss Chatham and footman Covington. All have their own bio with revealing information and carry a whole host of different benefits such as random wilds, paying both ways, multipliers and free spins. These are the features that will play out when the free spins take place.

Become a Detective

Once the countdown has ended you’ll enter into detective mode and it’s here that you’ll be able to use the clues you’ve gathered on the reels during play. There are three separate levels that you’ll eventually need to play through because it’s not just the identity of the murderer you need to discover, it’s also the location and the murder weapon, too.

There’s a bonus part to being a detective too where you’re get the chance to grill the potential killer and accuse who you believe is the guilty party. However, you won’t get the chance to do this unless you’ve first solved all the three prior clue collection levels. Even if you’ve done this you won’t be able to proceed to the interrogation until you manage to land the all-important evidence symbol on the centre reel.

Exercise Your Grey Matter

If Who Spun It? was a winner for you, check out some of the other crime scene slots on the market. Admittedly, few are entertaining or as innovative as this title but they still offer the same theme. After Night Falls is a title also from Betsoft which features cutting edge graphics, animated sequences and great bonus play. If you want to play a crime scene slot with characters you recognise there’s the award-winning CSI slot from IGT which has 30 paylines, 5 reels and special bonus play too.

Truly Unique Gaming

Who Spun It? from Betsoft is an online video slot like no other which offers a truly interactive experience with players collecting symbols to unlock the clues. Anyone who’s ever found regular titles to be lacking depth of play should take a look at this game because it takes slots to the next level. The game is good at explaining what the next steps are but it would be helpful to have a basic understanding of how slots work so for this reason it’s not recommended for absolute beginners.
