Evolution Gaming has been hitting the headlines in force lately, something that undoubtedly reflects the sheer popularity of live dealer casino action and something that you would definitely expect from one of the biggest players. After signing up new partners, extending existing agreements and setting up whole new studios over recent months, the company this week announced that they are building a whole new studio complex in Italy’s Casino Campione d’Italia.
The land based casino is already immensely successful with a player base that travels from all over Italy and Switzerland to sample a wide selection of quality games. Evolution’s influence on proceedings is expected to be yet another prominent feature of the architect designed premises, with live blackjack, live roulette and live baccarat being the first tables installed on the premises and streamed to Evolution customers across the existing network.
Earlier this year, Evolution set up a similar deal in Spain although that was a somewhat different case as operators in Spain need to be located in licenced casino premises. There are no such restrictions in Italy and this was simply a business transaction driven by the casino itself.
Jens von Bahr, CEO at Evolution, explained the deal in more detail, commenting: “Unlike in Spain, where an online live casino service has to be broadcast from a licensed land based casino within that jurisdiction, there is no such requirement in Italy. Casino Campione has chosen this route purely because they see an in casino live studio as a vital component of the modern casino in the multi-channel world.”
Players can choose to access the new Italian tables at Casino Campione through all of Evolutions currently supported devices, which include of course PCs and Macs, together with iPads, iPhones and all manner of other modern mobile devices. The tables are branded with the casino’s own imagery and players can of course still opt to play at Evolution’s regular tables that are broadcast from a purpose built facility in Latvia.
Carlo Pagan, CEO of Casino Campione, also commented on the deal, saying: “By integrating live casino services into our venue we are creating more than simply extended choice and convenience for players. We recognise that the online and offline worlds can work together in perfect harmony – we see this as the ideal way to reach a much wider audience and so promote the attractions of our core business, our land based venue.”
Gionata La Torre, CEO of Evolution Italy, also weighed in, saying: “We are delighted to have been selected by Italy’s leading land based casino. An in venue live studio will give Casino Campione a significant competitive edge and a major incremental revenue stream. Most importantly, the in venue live studio will offer the most exciting cross promotional opportunities to attract more visitors to what is a fantastic casino and entertainment complex in a stunning location.”
