Konami is a familiar name to players around the world as a provider of leading entertainment titles. Whether you grew up with famous video games like Castlevania or Pro Evolution Soccer, or know the Japanese brand best for their presence in casinos around the world, the sheer range of products ensures that many players have a favourite. Like many of the popular land based providers, Konami has struggled to overtake the established names in the online space like Microgaming and Playtech. Indeed, they were taking their time over even announcing anything resembling an online strategy – until now that is.
Having signalled their intention to enter into a partnership with an established online company to bring their significant range of slot games to the online market, the company has now announced that after careful deliberation, they have opted for GameAccount Network and their popular iGaming platform.
The first stage of the partnership will see some of Konami’s most popular slot games converted for online play on the network and then delivered to existing GameAccount Network partners around the world. The first games are scheduled to launch in early 2014.
Julius Patta, President of GameAccount Network USA, commented on the deal, saying: “We are excited to have been selected by a world class gaming company like Konami. Customers from around the world have been asking to play Konami games like China Shores, African Diamond and Solstice Celebration online and, very soon, they will be able to. Konami is an ideal partner based on their core values, track record and robust catalogue of successful casino slot gaming content which we expect to outperform online native equivalents. We are delighted to welcome Konami content within GameAccount Network and look forward to bringing their compelling machine-based games online and distributing them into regulated internet gaming markets such as Italy and the UK and, in due course, markets like Spain and New Jersey.”
Konami Gaming was also understandably pleased with the new development, with their Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President Steve Sutherland commenting: “GameAccount Network is a world-class provider of iGaming solutions. It was critical for us to find a partner who could help us to deliver our game content online in a manner designed to help casino customers to grow revenue and expand their businesses. Additionally, we selected GAN because our views on internet and mobile gaming strategy align.”
The latter comments indicate that it may not just be online casino players that benefit from the new partnership, with those on smartphones and tablets also looking likely to get a slice of the action in the near future.
While the first games are not expected for a few months, you can prepare yourself now for the influx of Konami titles. GameAccount Network is partnered with some of the biggest gaming companies around including William Hill, Sportingbet and Paddy Power.
