Little Goblins is a brand new game from Booming Games that promises deep forests and all out action at every corner, along with a very satisfying payoff. To be honest, forest and greenery, along with mythical beasts, are themes that have been tackled time and time again over the years. But in our humble opinion, Booming Games has at least attempted to put its own unique stamp on the genre.

There is certainly plenty of talk surrounding Little Goblins, as us – like most – are still waiting for a flagship Booming Games release to hit the shelves of the best online casinos. Question is, hype aside, does it bring anything new to the table? Let’s find out!

Entering a Highly Forgettable Forest

Animation wise, there’s nothing to say. Little Goblins is really simplistic, the whole game feels a bit half-baked at times, which is really one of the worst things about this release in general. Symbols wise, the game’s not that great either. Most of them are just the original icons that have been around for ages; just that the developers added in some beady eyes to make them look like odd beings. The other symbols that you’ll see in the game consist of an old man symbol, a green critter symbol, a red critter symbol, a blue critter symbol, and a brown critter with red pupils symbol.

On the plus side, the soundtrack is very chilled, nothing but relaxing beats to help you concentrate on the game at hand. When you press the “Spin” button you can still hear the song, although it is overshadowed by the clacking sound from the reels, which basically makes this game inferior to games like Pixies of the Forest, which have a lot better timing and such.

Heading Towards Double or Nothing

If you want to make a profit in this game you’ll have to land multiple symbols on the reels, aligned from left to right. The bigger the value you bet, the bigger the reward will be, so make sure you increase the value to at least 0.30. The maximum value you can bet is 30.00 in this 5-reel, 3-row, 10-payline, low variance game.

After any win, the player can choose whether they want to participate in the Double or Nothing special feature game. If you’re lucky enough you can get up to 10x the amount you had before, but if you’re not that lucky you’ll lose all of your money in a single hit.

Row After Row of Extras

On the bonus front, the wild of the game kicks things off, as it replaces all other symbols in the game except for the scatter. The scatter is represented by a green critter that has yellow teeth. If you get multiple of them on the same reel you’ll be rewarded with multiple free spins and some decent wins to boot.

There is an expanding symbol in Little Goblins, which is one of the most original features in the whole game. Basically, before you finish your free spins you need to pause the game and turn on the expanding feature. You can choose any symbol, except for the wild and the scatter, and if you get that symbol three plus times, then your whole reel will expand vertically.

Pixies of the Forest Carries on the Enchantment

Little Goblins is a game really isn’t up to all that much, as it’s pretty much middle of the road. That being said, if you want to play something similar there are a huge amount of choice out there. Forgoing games that have also come from Booming Games, as that’s a little too easy, it’s actually a game from IGT that has caught out attention.

IGT’s Pixies of the Forest is arguably the game that Little Goblins should have been. Packed with action, paylines, cash payouts, and bonus extras, if you enjoy Little Goblins you are simply going to love Pixies of the Forest.

Little Goblins Appears to Be All Out of Luck!

In conclusion, is Little Goblins worth your time? Well, first of all let’s look at the positives. The music is nice, the game’s design is visually pleasing to the eye, the gameplay is very simple and easy to get into and overall it’s a great starters game for newcomers. The problem is that it looks like it was made for newcomers, since there’s not that much for the average professional slots player.

Outside of that, the problem of overall half-baked symbols and the lack of small details that could make this game stand out are a real issue. Putting it simply, Little Goblins is an “okay” game that delivers nothing to write home about.
