Duck of Luck Returns slot machine is not a what you are probably thinking it is. Our first thoughts were that this game would be packed full of farm animals and boast a farming scene, but we couldn’t have been further away from the theme if we tried.

Duck or Luck Returns is an oriental slot machine that takes you on a journey through the different traditions and cultures of Japan. As you travel around Asia, you should be keeping your eyes peeled for the golden duck, because by collecting her golden eggs will give you unlimited amounts of free spins.

Duck of Luck Returns is a follow up to Duck of Luck, it features more ducks, more features and more wins. Casino Technology are the brains behind this slot machine, but it’s not the only slot title from their extensive portfolio that bears an oriental theme. Dancing Dragons, Duck of Luck, Golden Flower of Life and Jade Heaven are just a few to mention.

Playing Duck of Luck Returns can be done for 40 coins or a maximum of 400 coins – the bigger your bet, the more free spins and payouts on offer.

Theme and Info

There are 5 reels and 40 fixed paylines to the Duck of Luck Returns slot machine, its predecessor; Duck of Luck offered 5 reels and just 25 paylines. When you launch the slot machine, you’ll notice that the reels are placed on a bamboo screen with bright splashes of colour coming from paylines either side of the reels. Other colours that brighten the slot machine come from these symbols; Geisha girl, golden duck, golden hat, vase, golden coins, golden egg and card values 10, J, Q, K and A.

You’ll find the control panel beneath the reels allowing you to place your bets for either 40 coins or 400 coins a spin. The paytable is situated under the orange game menu option.

Jackpots and Payouts

Geisha girl is what dishes out the most money, five of these awards the non-progressive jackpot. The amount on offer is determined by the stake you make – 40 coins offers a 10,000 jackpot; 400 coins offers a 100,000 jackpot

With a name like Duck of Luck Returns, we were assuming the duck symbol would award the biggest payout, but it awards the second highest payout of 40,000 coins for a 400-coin stake.

Available Features

The golden duck is considered to be a wild and a scatter symbol, should a duck fall on the reels, it can be used to complete winning paylines. Not only that, but three or more of these symbols and you will trigger the free spins bonus.

With the free spins bonus, you will be awarded 10 free spins. The golden eggs are present during your free spins and the more you collect – the more you’ll receive: Collect between 6 and 15 golden eggs to receive a 3x multiplier
Accumulate between 16 and 18 eggs to get an additional 10 free spins. Nineteen or more golden eggs and you will receive a staggering 200x multiplier.

After any win during the base game (worth less than 10x your stake), will enable the double up feature. You can go on for more money if you are not happy with the win you’ve just triggered. From the options on your screen, guess the colour suit of the next card drawn to win double your initial win.

Use the four options to the left of the screen to predict the colour suit – if you can manage to hit it lucky with either clubs, diamonds, spades or hearts, you will be rewarded with a 4x multiplier.

What We Think

Duck of Luck Returns is a medium variance slot machine that doesn’t seem to offer much on first impressions, but when you play the game, you’ll notice that the winning potential is far superior to that of the previous slot release; Duck of Luck.

Without doubt, the biggest wins come during the free spins bonus (unless you trigger the non-progressive jackpot), because with the possibility of receiving a 200x multiplier on all wins is staggering.

The double up feature allows you to gamble all or half your stake – but you can take your money at any time, our opinion would be not to gamble as it’s a 50/50 game of chance.
