If you’re at all familiar with software by EGT Interactive, then you’ve probably noticed that they seem to enjoy going back to the same well time and again. That’s not to say that they aren’t creative: go to any online casino that offers their games, and you’ll see plenty of unique options. But you’ll also notice some repeats, distinguished only by the number of paylines they feature. This allows the developer to create multiple versions of the same game that will appeal to different types of gamblers, leading to shorter development times and more happy players at the same time.

The upcoming 40 Burning Hot by EGT Interactive is a prime example of this way of thinking. The original Burning Hot was a five payline machine, which is fine for some players, but probably doesn’t deliver the kind of action most audiences are looking for. With that in mind, the studio is now working on two new alternatives that will have 20 and 40 paylines. The version we’re talking about here is particularly interesting, as not only does it offer the most action of any of the various incarnations of this title, but it also does so on a slightly expanded layout.

Green with Envy

The 40 Burning Hot video slot is currently in development, and is expected to be released to online gambling sites later this year. We expect it to follow most of the art design and basic structure of the other titles in this series, which means players can expect to see a lot of green on their screens. It’s a pleasing look, which compliments the fairly simple layout and basic (but nicely drawn) symbols very well, creating a classic look that’s easy to navigate.

When it comes time to play, you’ll be able to do so on your iPhone, Android, or tablet device thanks to a mobile-optimized platform that offers compatibility with just about any operating system you can think of. A play for free option should be available for you to test out first if you don’t want to risk real cash right away. Once you are ready for real money play, EGT is usually pretty good about providing plenty of options to satisfy low limit casual players and high rollers.

The Cherry on Top

The 40 Burning Hot video slot is a five-reel game, but unlike the versions of this machine that utilize fewer paylines, this 40 line edition is played over a 4×5 layout, putting more icons on the screen at once. The object of the game remains the same, however: you’ll want to match identical symbols from left to right across the reels. Generally speaking, you’ll want to hit at least three in a row in order to score a win, with bigger prizes being attached to longer matches.

This game uses a mixture of pretty traditional symbols, with fruits such as cherries, lemons, oranges and plums making up the low-paying characters. Bells, watermelons, and grapes fill out the middle part of the pay table, while sevens are the high-paying symbol, offering up the largest potential payouts in the game. These sevens can even pay a small prize if you hit just two in a row.

Luck of the Irish

Perhaps the most important symbol in this game is the four leaf clover. These serve as wild symbols, and can appear on any of the three middle reels on the display. When one shows up, it will substitute for any other normal icon in order to complete winning paylines. In addition, the clover will expand to fill up the entire reel, making sure that it is helping you win on every single line possible whenever one shows up.

There are also two scatter symbols, both of which can award instant wins but do not lead to free wins or any other bonus rounds. The first is the star, which appears only on the first, third, and fifth reels. Should you hit all three, you’ll earn an instant coins reward. There are also dollar signs, which can appear on every reel. Hitting at least three anywhere on screen will earn you a prize, though larger payouts are in store for four or five.

Four Suits, Four Jackpots

The one bonus round on this machine is the same one seen in many EGT Interactive titles: the jackpot cards progressive feature. This can be randomly triggered after any spin, and results in players entering a second screen with a dozen face down cards on the screen. You can click on these to reveal them, each time showing one of the four card game suits. Once you’ve found three of the same suit, you’ll win the associated progressive jackpot. The spades prize is the largest, followed by hearts, diamonds, and clubs.

Other than that, the only other notable quirk on this machine is the gamble feature. This optional mini game allows you to risk everything you’ve won on the last spin in a double-or-nothing challenge. Pick the right color of a randomly drawn card, and you’ll double your money; guess incorrectly, and you’ll walk away with nothing for your efforts.

More Lines, More Fun

For many players, the reason to play 40 Burning Hot will be to get access to those extra paylines. And who are we to argue with that logic? More action is more fun, and this game also has a slightly higher volatility level than other versions of this machine, which only adds to the fun for most gamblers. Otherwise, we expect you to enjoy this one if you find the original title fun to play, though we’ll be sure to post a complete review when this one is released to let you know if there are any other changes you need to know about.
