Leap Into Action
Before we go wildlife hunting however we need to discuss those ever present playing card symbols. Five of these chaps turn up in Kangaroo Land, and they have been split into two distinct paying categories: the Ten, Jack, Queen and King all pay at the same rate, which is 5 coins for three, 20 coins for four and 100 coins for the full set of five.
And then standing out on his own proudly at the top o the pile is the Ace, who awards 20 coins, 30 coins and 125 coins respectively.
And now we can go hunting for those unusual creatures lurking on the fringes of the Outback. The first pair are the Platypus and the Cockatoo, and these unlikely bedfellows pay at the rate of 20 coins for three, 100 coins for four and 200 coins for five.
Next up are the Koala and the Grouse, and these will deliver handsome rewards of 30 coins, 125 coins and 300 coins for three through to five.
But the undisputed king and queen of the Bush are the Aborigine characters, and don’t be fooled by their ice cold exterior because this pair have a heart of gold. The Aborigine Female, for example, will reward players just for matching a pair (5 coins), with further prizes for three (40 coins), four (350 coins) and five (500 coins).
The Aborigine Male, meanwhile, will hand his new found friends 5 coins for two, 50 coins for three, 500 coins for four and 1000 coins for the fantastic five.
Players can even gamble any wins of less than 700 coins for the opportunity to double up! All you have to do is correctly guess the colour of a playing card that is turned over in front of your very eyes.
Hop To It
The wild in this game is the eponymous Kangaroo, and this will substitute for all other symbols apart from the scatter. It will appear on the middle three reels only, but helps players to crank up their winning potential nonetheless.
The scatter is the classic Aussie favourite the Boomerang, and this will spin onto your reels at the rate of 100 coins, 400 coins and 2,000 coins respectively. Three or more of the scatter also triggers the Free Spins round, with 15 freebies granted to players.
There’s a little edge to the Free Spins feature in Kangaroo Land, so pay attention. When the wild symbol appears stacked on your reels, it will be held in place and free spins will be awarded for all of your other reels that don’t feature a wild. Spin three or more scatters in the freebies round? Great stuff: you’ll be handed another 15 free spins to add to your collection.
All of the above is enhanced yet further by the Jackpot Cards feature, an EGT speciality. You will be presented with 12 playing cards face down, and players will be asked to pick from this field until they have revealed three of the same suit; and they will then be awarded the corresponding amount at the top of the screen. Happy days!
So that’s Kangaroo Land. There’s plenty on offer for players who like a bit of extra bang for their buck, with the stacked wilds helping to eke out some extra value. And with the Jackpot Cards feature in tow, you could be a mere spin or two away from a life-changing sum of money.
