Eyecon Slots

If you know even a little something about the gaming industry, you have probably heard just how much of a role gambling plays in Australian culture. The Aussies are known for having many regulated ways to place a bet, from casinos and sportsbooks to numerous clubs that host pokies (what they call slot machines) and many more forms of betting. One thing they don’t have is a fully developed and regulated iGaming industry, though it is hard to imagine that’s not going to come into being at some point.

With that in mind, it makes sense that the country has played host to some of the world’s bigger gaming developers over the years. That’s even true for the online world, where software providers have sprung up that service operators from around the world.

One such company is Eyecon, a Brisbane-based firm that has been in business ever since 1997. They have since looked to be a one-stop shop for the whole industry, supplying both land-based and online operators over the past two decades. They’ve been a premium supplier to regulated jurisdictions around the world, creating state of the art designs for both brick-and-mortar play and a fully customized white label solution online that includes live dealer play and their own slots collection, along with the ability to integrate games from other developers.

No Shortage of Slots

If there’s one area where Eyecon has really tried to make a mark on the iGaming scene, it is in their slots collection. The company has a library of more than 100 games to choose from, and as with any portfolio of that size, there isn’t simply a single defining style that applies to all of their games. In the many dozens of games we’ve seen from this company, we’ve seen a wide range of themes, artistic styles, and gameplay elements. The one constant is that these games tend to be of rather high quality, even if they aren’t at the bleeding edge of slots technology.

That doesn’t mean that we can’t give you an idea of what to expect in this collection. Let’s take a look at a few different titles, and see the kinds of games Eyecon has created over the past 20 years.

First, there’s the cute and deadly martial arts-themed machine known as 5 Ninjas. This five-reel, 25-line game has a cute animated look and feel, designed to bring out a child-like atmosphere while still providing some serious gambling action. You’ll be matching all of the ninjas, of course, which offer the largest prizes in the game outside of some of the more interesting special features that can be triggered.

What are those? Well, along with the standard wilds that have always been a part of any good slot, this game is also known for its bonus rounds – in particular, the one known as the “Secret Ninja Prize Pack.” In this game, you’ll start to earn prizes by opening doors in an effort to free each of the ninjas from their captors. You can keep picking until you unlock all five of the prisoners, or you are caught by a guard, which ends the round immediately.

Another beautiful game is Sugar Train, a machine that takes place in a world of rainbows, green fields, and more sweets than any one person should eat in a lifetime. Once again, this is a 25-payling game over five reels, played mostly on a bright and vibrant screen that truly pops – it’s hard to find a cheerier game than this one (though the night scenes, found in some bonus features, also look gorgeous in their own way).

Once again, there are two separate special features you can unlock: a great free games option with 25 plays and triple the normal winnings, as well as a bonus that allows you to pick prizes at random from a rainbow. Even the gamble feature that comes after a winning spin is unique, as instead of flipping coins or predicting the color of a card, you’ll have to choose between one of two cupcakes to see if you get double or nothing.

We were also fans of Lion Dance, perhaps at least partially because we were surprised by the theme. Rather than a game that takes place on an African savannah, this is a traditional form of dance in China, often seen during major cultural and religious festivals (such as Chinese New Year). Once again, these games really shine in their background settings, as you’ll see beautiful art of temples and other locals that help give this a truly memorable and traditional atmosphere.

As for the game itself, you’ll be matching a combination of Chinese symbols and the traditional poker ranks that are seen on slots all over the world. A free games round features the lion dance itself, giving you something to enjoy while you pick up double the winnings on each play. A Red Envelope game allows you to pick and choose to continue racking up bigger and bigger prizes, while a fireworks festival game offers even more ways to leave with a major reward.

This is just a small sample of the slots that you’ll be able to try at a casino site that features the Eyecon software package. Even if the games above don’t necessarily appeal to you, the large library almost ensures that something will be to your tastes – especially considering that most of the machines are of quite high quality. A few more of our favorites include:

  • Emperor’s Fortune
  • Beez Kneez
  • Irish Luck
  • Jurassic Juniors
  • Mermaid’s Pearl
  • Super Nova
  • Secret Garden
  • Tin Town

While the focus at Eyecon is clearly on slots, that’s not all they have created over the years. The company has a handful of table games and specialty products: for instance, they have developed blackjack versions that use the Perfect Pairs side bet, and they also offer up baccarat, roulette, and instant scratch card games, as well as pachinko and even some Texas Hold’em-based products.

More interesting is the company’s live dealer offerings. While they don’t offer up the largest selection, there are streaming versions of baccarat, roulette, sic bo and blackjack, all of which are dealt from a live studio environment. These games feature not only the atmosphere of a brick-and-mortar casino, but have classic-looking interfaces that help increase the feel that one is playing a “real world” version of these casino classics.

A Popular Option in Regulated Markets

While Eyecon may not be considered one of the biggest names in the industry, at least worldwide, their software has been widely utilized in the UK and a handful of other regulated markets. In fact, this company is far more prolific than even we would have guessed before we looked into it: hundreds of different operators take advantage of this package, usually putting it alongside a variety of games from other providers in order to offer a well-rounded gambling suite for their players.

The popularity of this software may be due to the fact that it is highly customizable. The firm makes a point of letting clients know that they can create custom-made titles for individual sites in order to meet the needs of each and every provider. Their system is also flexible, available in both downloadable and browser-based, instant play formats. Along with full casino management systems, they even create some less traditional iGaming fare, such as multiplayer games and interactive options that can be integrated into television media. Put that all together, and it is easy to understand why so many groups have partnered with Eyecon for one or more of these services.

An Excellent Provider from Down Under

Given how well their products play and the number of sites you can find them on, it is surprising that most players haven’t seen more of Eyecon in recent years. Perhaps that’s mainly because their efforts are confined mostly to regulated markets, or because they rarely play a starring role in a casino – instead, they often support games from one of the bigger names in the industry.

But we think that most players will find a whole lot to like about the portfolio of slots and other options that Eyecon brings to the table. If you enjoy machines that have excellent presentation and graphical quality, but don’t want to have that come at the expense of good gameplay, then you’ll have a great time with this selection of quality offerings from Australia.
