The city of Monopoly is soon to become your favourite hotspot when you play the 30 fixed winlines of this slot machine from Gamesys. Titled Monopoly City Spins, it’s a bustling grid of images that offer both base and feature game extras, which in turn provides a more fulfilling online experience. This is one of the best board game slots the brand offers, so make sure to test it out.

What we like most about this take on the 1900s game is that you don’t have to play with others; you can cut out the potential fights and just focus on your progress. No more sulking because you lost or went bankrupt, now you can roll the dice and move on a board that you control. This is the ultimate Monopoly experience of the modern age. If you’re sceptical, why not load up a demo of the title and see the game in action for yourselves? We’re sure you’ll appreciate it the way we do.

Cityscape

For those of you who are avid fans of the board game, there’s a set style that you expect to see when you play Monopoly: silvery green images should be found in every corner of the board. However, Gamesys have taken a much more colourful and contemporary approach, which will make some players uncomfortable.

In our opinion, the change in artistic direction is one that’s needed, for the interface of Monopoly Rising Riches was bland and 2D. Here you have a multidimensional matrix that has a tangible looking illustrated background; it’s still 2D, but it feels more textured somehow. That being said, we can’t deny that there’s a lot going on with the contrasting imagery here, resulting in a busy gaming screen. Getting the balance between too much and too little is difficult, and sadly Gamesys have failed to achieve the feat. However, the end result is still relatively pleasing.

Gone Is Originality

Seeing as we were just talking about the toughness in getting the right aesthetic, we’ll now take a look at IGT’s take on the game, simply named Monopoly. This slot machine has 5-reels, just like this one, only the style is a lot more pastel and minimalist. Furthermore, although there are several features, they don’t seem to be nearly as immersive as the ones provided here.

That being said, as far as follow Monopoly titles go, this is one of the more stimulating, and an example that moves you away from the Gamesys brand. Appreciating a company is one thing, but only playing their slots limits you no end. Exploring your options is part of the fun of gaming. IGT is a well-known brand, so you’ll get a high quality title that isn’t too dissimilar to this one.

Token Board

Inside the winlines of this real cash slot, you have the opportunity to leave behind the reels of the title and get reacquainted with the board game; the Board Bonus is your modern day means of reliving your childhood. To reach this level you’ll need to land the bonus tile on three out of the five columns, specifically the first, third and fifth.

Furthermore, prior to starting you’ll need to select one of the tokens shown, which in turn will reveal the amount of positions you can move around the board. Just like in the real game, you’ll have to collect property cards, though their importance doesn’t come into play until much later on. To save you waiting here’s a sneak preview: they relate to the free games handed out once this round ends. Should you land no cards and get no extra rolls of the dice, the level will end and you’ll leave with empty pockets.

My Head Is Spinning

Monopoly City Spins will have your head swimming from all that rolling and spinning – there’s a lot crammed into such a compact interface. And yet, for an online slot based on an international renowned game, Gamesys has done extremely well in paying homage to the original. We’d play this activity again, even despite its flaws, for it offers a medium level of variance and low to medium volatility, both of which make for easier gaming.
