Playable on 4 reel sets at once, Wild West is a dynamic and exciting slot with medium volatility and many more ways to win than in a regular slot game. The New Frontier

The classic far west universe is already rich in visual references, and Wild West is basically using them all right off the bat. The sun is setting in the background, while the main reel set stands embedded in the facade of the local saloon, with a cow’s skull hanging at the top. The other reel sets are smaller and spin on their own on the right-hand side of the screen.

Wild West is well-adapted to mobile platforms and provides players with a pop-up menu that you can summon by clicking or tapping the switch on the right. Otherwise, Wild West looks a lot like many other slots such as Old West from Logispin, just to name one.

Keep Your Eyes Wide Open

Wild West stands out from the other cowboy slots because of its gameplay. Not only will you have to take care of the 5 reels facing you, but you have 3 other identical reel sets spinning at the same time on the side. Switch to high roller and you can bet from 1.00 to 50.00 per turn on the fixed 40 paylines of the game, and use the autoplay game mode if you want to stick with the same settings for a moment. Each win can also give you access to a gamble game, where you have to correctly guess the colour of a hidden card to double your reward.

Wild West gave us very decent chances to win frequent prizes on its many reels when we tested it. The symbol menu contains both the usual card icons and sheriff stars, revolvers and several far west characters with a top prize set at 40,000 credits for the players who dare play all-in. Despite its multiple reel sets, Wild West follows very classic rules, as you can see.

When One Wild Triggers Another

The wild card is a silver symbol that can appear anywhere in Wild West and replace the basic symbols at will. If you happen to score a wild on the main reel set, it will be automatically transferred to the same position on all 3 other reel sets to help you unlock even more cash prizes at once.

The gunshot bonus is a random feature that can happen after any win on the reels. The sheriff will shoot one of the 4 stars visible in between the reel sets, revealing a win multiplier going from x2 to x10. Finally, the last trick of the game is the “hi roller” game mode; activate it to play 3 consecutive spins with the wager, during which any wild will remain in position. You can choose between the silver and gold mode, depending on how many credits you are willing to risk here.

A Missed Opportunity?

Wild West is a fast-paced slot game with an original, multi-reel gameplay that really adds something to the mix. That being said, we would have liked the paytable to be even more varied, and perhaps to have the option to activate the reel sets separately.

In the end, Wild West behaves a lot like a classic slot game with a single reel set. The most interesting feature is the transferable wilds, which can really help you out. Otherwise, we felt like the Mazooma developers could have taken the whole game to a higher level.
