With there just being the three reels and just the one pay-line in this game they don’t take up anything like the space the five-reel games play. They are situated in the top let hand corner of the screen and will bring back lots of memories for those who have played three-reel games in the past and other current Microgaming slot games.
There’s the cherries, which as they nearly always seem to be (apart from in the game ‘Cherry Red’) are the lowest paying symbols in this game. Then there’s the single, double, and triple bars, red 7’s and the blue star with lightning coming out of it, which are the largest paying symbol in this game.
The coin range for ‘Double Magic’ goes from €0.25 to €25 but you then have to decide how many coins to play on each spin of the reels. You can either play one or two coins, just press ‘Bet One’ for one coin and ‘Bet Max’ to go the whole hog. It’s important because the winning amounts available are doubled when playing two coins. For example, three triple bars pay either 50x if playing with one coin and 100x if playing with both coins.
The top prize in this game is for three of the blue stars. If playing with one coin, you win 800x your line stake, it’s 1600x. which means a maximum win of €8000. Just keep an eye on your budget because if you do want to be playing and with a chance of winning the top prize, the minimum stake is €0.50 and the maximum €100.
The blue star is also the wild symbol in this game. It can substitute for all other symbols to help get you a winning combination. The good news is that there’s a multiplier attached to any winning combinations it does create. If one wild helps get you a win, that win is doubled, it’s quadrupled if two wilds appear and get you a winning combination.
All the control buttons are down the bottom of the screen so there’s no having to struggle finding anything. The game can be played in regular or expert mode. The only real difference is the ability to be able to set an autoplay. That’s handy if you want some time away from the screen or just want a way out of having to keep pressing the Spin button. You can either set 5x or 10x automated spins or set a more complex figure. That way you can stop the automated spins if a certain win comes along that you don’t want to lose or if your account balance reaches a certain level.
By no means is this a complicated game, in fact It’s ideal for someone new to playing slot games. A nice gentle introduction before working out free spins, multipliers and pick ‘em games. If you use the help button down the bottom of the screen that bring up another window that has all the game rules.
Magic or Not?
Another straightforward slot from Microgaming. It’s not at all complicated but it has a decent look to it. The theme isn’t the best around to be fair but there are some good wins to be had so it’s well worth giving a go. The addition of a wild symbol is helpful though and can help keep your account balance ticking over.
