Box of Delights
It’s supposed to be Jack in the Box but to be honest, the character depicted in this game looks more like Punch to me. Perhaps Judy finally had enough, kicked him out and the poor bloke had to change his name. Well, I guess we’ll never know but at least the addition of this character adds to the attractive look of the game.
‘Jack in the Box’ has a dark green background Not so the Jack In the Box logo which dominates the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. Jack is in big bold yellow letters and then there’s the Box which sees the three letters in boxes (rather appropriately) with colourul letters on different coloured backgrounds.
Be Wild about Jack
To the right of the image of Punch, sorry Jack, is another smaller one but this one does contain some very good news. It tells you how the Jack in the Box symbol really does have some punch because it’s the wild symbol in this game. That means it can substitute for other symbols and hopefully get you some winning combinations. When that does happen there’s a multiplier attached to the win. If one wild gets you a win then that win is doubled and if two wilds help you then that quadruples the win.
The reels for this game are in the top left-hand corner of the screen, that’s standard for these three-reel slots from Microgaming. There’s three reels and just the one pay-line, a lot less than you might be used to.
The symbols are fairily basic and only two are theme-related. There’s the Jack in the Box symbol that’s already been mentioned plus the 7’s are on a box with a variety of colours. Also you get the single, double and triple bars and the lowest paying symbols which as ever are the cherries.
Playing this game, you’ll obviously be wanting to win the jackpot, but that is only going to happen if you play with both coins. The coin range goes from €0.25 up to €5. Therefore, if playing both coins, the minimum cost is €0.50 and the maximum €10. Just work your own budget out and only gamble what you can afford to lose.
If playing with just the one coin, the prize for three of the Jack in the Box symbols pays you 2000x your coin stake but if both are played you win a handsome 5000x so there’s a definite incentive to play with the maximum number of coins. After all, if the three Jack in the Boxes come along and you were only playing with one coin you might be a little bit disappointed.
Other wins include either 100x or 200x for the 7’s and 50x or 100x for a trio of triple bars. Remember there is that wild multiplier out there.
Playing this game isn’t going to cause you any major problems. All the operating buttons are down the bottom of the screen and it’s easy to set your coin level and how many to play. It’s also possible to set an autoplay feature. That can only be done if you’re playing in expert mode. It’s the usual scenario in these games of being able to just play 5x or 10x or set your own figure.
A colourful looking game that can provide you with some decent wins. The wild multiplier is always a handy addition to a game like this and can keep that account balance ticking over nicely. Definitely recommended for a play.
