Retro and Solid
Mega Money Multiplier sticks to that typical casino look that so many gamblers across the world love. The dark red background looks a bit like a game table, with just the reels and a slim command bar at the bottom to catch your eye. The animations are flawless, and the sound effects will send you back to your casino days in an instant.
As you can see, Mega Money Multiplier just sticks to what we expected from it. The result is very predictable, and polarising as well. If you were looking for a retro game, well this couldn’t possibly get more retro than this. Otherwise, Mega Money Multiplier will lack all the modern visual features that you might be used to, especially if you are new to the slot game world.
As Straightforward as It Gets
Mega Money Multiplier is based on 3 reels and 9 paylines, which is admittedly more than we expected. Use the command buttons to bet from 0.15 to 150 credits per turn and let the reels spin once you are ready. The game is clearly high-variance, making it tougher than average to score cash prizes at first. The 96% RTP, however, is quite average and indicates that you should be able to win some interesting cash prizes in the long term. As always, use the bet max shortcut to go all-in, or the autoplay mode to see what luck has in store for you, spin after spin.
As for the paytable, it only contains 5 different reel symbols: purple and red 7s, plus the usual single, double and triple bar signs. The basic rewards in the game are not exceptional, but Mega Money Multiplier has some very interesting special symbols to offer as well. You have 4 different wilds available throughout the game, ready to replace the other symbols. Each of the comes with a multiplier: the x2 wild can appear anywhere, while the x3, x4 and x5 wilds can only show up on the middle reel. Play your cards right and you could end up with a x10 multiplier in total. Moreover, landing 2 multipliers on the central reels at once triggers a free respin instantly.
More Retro Choices
Reel Classic 5 is another great option to consider if you like retro slot game. This Playtech title is basically a slot machine simulator, with still 5 reels to bet on. This allows the game’s volatility to be somewhat lower than in Mega Money Multiplier, which is a great argument for beginner gamblers out there.
And if you are more attracted to actual fruit machines, check out Fruit Inferno by Novomatic. This 1980s style, flashy slot machine is a great compromise between Mega Money Multiplier and Reel Classic 5. With a level of difficulty just enough to make it exciting, this is one of our favourite choices as far as retro slots go.
Try It and Be Ready for Some Surprises
Mega Money Multiplier is probably not for every player. You need to be a fan of the minimalistic style that is characteristic of the retro genre, and be ready to spend some time spinning the reels without many bonus features to help you out. The addition of the combining multipliers and surprise respins was actually a (positive) surprise for us.
Overall, Mega Money Multiplier does bring something extra to the retro slot game family. We were surprised to find 9 paylines available here as well, making the experience extra exciting. If you are willing to take some risks and let the reels decide your fate, Mega Money Multiplier is a must-try.
