Keeping it Secret
If you’re a little bit mushy or romantic, then you will find plenty of reasons to enjoy this slot from Microgaming. Right from the start the romantic tone is set with the border to the reels full of those red roses that seem to double in price when Valentine’s Day is on the horizon. There’s not much else in the background as the reels for this game are pretty large.
This game has five reels, three rows of symbols and just the nine pay-lines to try and get some winning combinations on. The coin range goes from €0.02 to €2. There’ a maximum of ten coins that can be played on each spin. Therefore, the minimum cost of playing all the pay-lines is €0.18 and the maximum €180. It’s just a case of working out how much you can afford to play without causing any financial worries.
Where this game lets itself down is with its symbols. Why on earth do we get the seven to Ace playing card symbols? That’s far too many, a ridiculous amount. At least the Queen and Ace have a red rose. Those that are theme related include a red heart with Secret Admirer written on it, a brooch, a wreath, red roses and perfume.
The wild symbol here is the mask with WILD written over the front of it. This can substitute for other symbols in the game and hopefully get you some winning combinations. However, it’s not able to sub for the scatter symbol which is the sparkling diamond ring.
The top prize in this game is paid out for five of the wild symbols on an active pay-line. This pays you 5000x your coin stake. Other notable wins include 2500x your coin stake for five of the red hearts or five of the brooches. You’ll get 1000x your coin stake for five of the wreaths or perfume bottles.
Operating the game won’t cause you many problems at all. The control buttons are all situated below the reels so no difficulty setting your stake. The game can be played in either regular or expert mode. In expert mode, you can set an autoplay, either 5x or 10x if you wish or set a more precise number.
Watch the Free Spins Roll In
It’s always important to read the rules to the game before you start playing it. You can press the Help button to get the rules or go to the top of the screen for the View Pays button. That brings up the paytable with details of how much each winning combination pays and some details of the bonus game.
You may not be able to win the heart of that person you’re in love with but there are some free spins available in this game. To get some you need to get at least two of the diamond ring scatter symbols (usually it’s three). The scatter symbols that trigger the free spins will stay in place during the round.
There’s only three free spins initially awarded which sounds a bit rubbish but thankfully that’s not the whole story. When another scatter symbol appears it’s frozen and the free spins counter goes back to three. If five of the diamond ring scatter symbols end up on the reels, an additional three free spins are awarded.
The game also has a gamble feature but be careful with this. When you get a win there’s the chance to boost it by taking on the gamble feature. It’s the usual one of having to predict the colour of the next playing card. Get it right and double your win but get it wrong and you lose it. This is ok for small wins but don’t overdo it and never gamble big wins.
The theme is a good one but could have been adhered to a bit better with fewer playing card symbols. There are some good wins to be had here though, just be careful with that gamble feature.
