Where’s the Whip?
The product has a layout of five reels and three rows, which provides all players with a fairly sub-standard video slot design. The symbols included in this game, as mentioned, are very much Indiana Jones-influenced, so you’ll have imagery of treasure maps, jewel-encrusted pendants, a golden-coloured pyramid, a monkey wearing a fez hat, and of course, an adventurer who is very much akin to the title character of the films. Alongside these, you’ll find the standard video slot icons in A, J, Q, K and 10, and all of the icons have been designed in a pleasant way so as to give a very visually appealing product.
Alongside its layout, Novomatic have also added a total of 20 different pay lines into the game. These aren’t fixed, so you can customise them to suit your own personal preferences, should you have the intent to bet on fewer. There’s also the possibility of being able to alter the bet you can place per active line, and this value starts from its minimum of $0.02 and increases up to $5, providing the game with its maximum overall wager. This stands at $100 with the 20 lines in play. An ‘Autoplay’ button has been added to the game as well, which allows for several consecutive spins to be played at the same wager level.
Digging for Gold
The explorer icon obviously stands in for any other symbol on the reels, providing the game with its wild image. As it stands, if you manage to spin five of these onto the reels across a winning pay line, you’ll be able to receive a maximum pay out of $5,000.
In addition to this, there are a couple of other specialities included in this product, starting with the scatter symbol, which is the treasure map. This can appear anywhere on the reels and will pay out in such instances as well. Three or more of them also trigger the freespins round, with a different number of these being provided depending upon the amount of them in view. So, three will give you 10 freespins, four of them will provide 12 freespins, and five icons will give you 15 freespins in total. The round also features a win multiplier of up to 10 times.
Novomatic have also included a gamble round into the game, which is something that appears in just about all of their products. This presents a simpler game than what is usually found in this developers offerings. So, instead of being offered up a card game, you’ll be given a ladder of blocks. The bottom one of these will be flashing and you simply need to press the ‘gamble’ button to see if the light stops on the block. If it does, your winnings will be doubled. If not, you will lose them.
Are you Ready to Start your Own Quest?
There may not be anything hugely compelling within the special features of this game, but it does provide a nicely designed product with decent animations. Freespins are a great addition to games, and so are wild icons, but you can’t help but feel that with a theme like this, there could have been so much more involved in it.
