Treasures of the Jungle

Aztec Princess clearly follows the same design as Aztec Idols and many other titles with a similar universe. The reels here are set on a giant stone, somewhere in the middle of the Mexican jungle. The sculpted ornaments around the reels and on the command bar are very detailed and really bring a little more authenticity to the experience.

In terms of originality, Aztec Princess scores pretty low. That being said, the game is still very beautiful to look at and the reel animations ultra fluid. A good start overall, but let’s check out the gameplay before drawing any conclusions.

Not Too Many Steps to Follow

Aztec Princess is played on 5 reels and over 20 paylines, with plus and minus arrows in the command bar to let you choose your wager. After choosing the coin value, you can bet from 0.20 to 25.00 per turn. Aztec Princess does not really allow players to take it easy and bet only a few cents, and high rollers might be the only players to fully appreciate this. Otherwise, the bet max and autoplay shortcut are always one click away, if you want to spice things up a little bit.

Despite its medium variance, Aztec Princess has a relatively low RTP set at 94.17%. We could somewhat feel the difference while testing the game, with a little more “failed” spins than usual. The paytable itself is a mix of stone card icons and jungle animals, from poisonous frogs to jaguars and eagles, to name a few. The highest win in the base game is a very decent 1000-coin prize, which can fall at any time during the game.

But Lots of Bonuses to Go After

Aztec Princess is rich in special features and symbols, starting with the golden emblem that plays the role of the wild card that replaces all basic icons on the reels. Wild combinations can further trigger a cash prize going up to 5000 coins, if you are extra lucky. The Aztec Princess herself can also appear during the game as a scatter, able to trigger the free spin mode, with up to 25 free games up for grabs.

Three or more painted skulls on the reels of Aztec Princess trigger an exclusive bonus feature. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen and try to make the right decisions to unlock surprise cash prizes and hit the Aztec Princess jackpot.

An Upgraded Version of Aztec Idols

Aztec Princess is an intuitive slot game with big wins available and a beautiful graphic environment, which is probably the most memorable feature of the game. If you end up mixing it up with Aztec Idols, no one will blame you. The two games are simply very similar, although we found Aztec Princess a little more challenging but also more beautiful and rewarding that its big brother.

In a nutshell, Aztec Princess is a great game for players who want to take some risks and play big to win big. The generous bonus features can be triggered quite often and bring some welcome diversity into the gameplay.
