History doesn’t lie, as Playson certainly know how to create an online slots game that players can get a real kick out of. Keeping this ongoing trend alive is the developer’s latest game. Built upon a myriad of neon and flashing lights, anyone who remembers the film Tron will find Space Lights to be strikingly familiar. What this game attempts to do is mesmerise players with a gambling experience that simply commands attention.

Take a single glance at Space Lights and you’ll see that its intentions are pretty clear from the outset. Saying that, all real money slots have the best intentions upon release, but so few in this day and age deliver. So, which category does Space Lights fall into? Is it really an intergalactic slots treat?

Across the Universe

The design of Space Lights really is enjoyable, as it forgoes the usual drab and dreary graphics that you’ll find in other games in order to present something more bright. Neon represents the driving force behind the appearance of Space Lights, as you’ll find it practically everywhere you look. Think Daft Punk, UV lighting, and jellyfish, and you’ll have a grasp on what the design of this game is all about.

The symbols of this game were a little tougher for us to put a finger on, as we aren’t quite sure what some of them are supposed to be. The circles, triangles, and glowing pyramids are pretty self-explanatory, but we weren’t quite able to figure out what the shield-based symbols were all about. While there does seem to be a little confusion on the symbols front, the overall appearance of Space Lights is really enjoyable.

In Space, Nobody Can Hear You Spin

Breaking down the credentials of Space Lights, the entire game appears to be built around 5 reels and 15 paylines. Through this game tends to play like a typical medium variance slots title, with it not colouring outside of the lines in this aspect.

Through each spin you will certainly be able to explore the universe, but the action and gameplay presented has its feet planted firmly on the ground.

Light-Years into the Unknown

Space Lights begins to pick up real steam in the bonuses department, as there is actually a complex structure in place. Each time you spin the reels, a UFO portal will randomly be activated above one of the reels. This allows players increased access to the game’s bonus features, in the form of free spins, sticky wilds, and the dedicated Space Lights mode.

For us, a lot of real money slots feature disposable bonus features that hardly live long in the memory. With Space Lights that isn’t the case, as the bonus features (largely through the dedicated extras) do work to pull you in. That being said, we would advise that a player tries the game out first through a free play mode to get an understanding of what does what.

Taking Control of the Ship

Playson have executed the controls within Space Lights to absolute perfection, as unlike in other games the control panel fits in with the rest of the game. Placed right below the reels is a small selection of buttons, with arrows allowing you to freely adjust your wager between 0.30 and 75.00. To the side of that is the “i” button, by hitting this you will be taken directly to the game’s paytable.

Do you fancy going for it all? Then hit the max bet button, as that will immediately up the ante before spinning the reels. It is also worth noting that Space Lights includes an autoplay feature, which allows a player to spin the reels without the need for any manual input.

Space Lights Really Does Light up the World of Online Slots!

With a name like Space Lights, this game could have quite easily been a dud. Thankfully, this game goes above and beyond its cliché name to deliver a surprisingly well-rounded real cash slots experience. The visuals are attention grabbing, the gameplay is smooth, and the bonus features included give the game additional replay value.

Overall, Space Lights makes for an easy recommendation.
