8-Bit Retro Style
At first sight, BigFroot looks like a pure arcade game with a retro, 8-bit graphic layout. You will be transported to the heart of a 2D forest, with the reels placed at the heart of BigFroot’s lair in the centre. If you were around in the 80s, BigFroot is going to bring up some very fond memories right from the moment you load the game on your machine.
Despite its ultra-retro look, BigFroot features a very modern command bar at the bottom of the screen. Thanks to it, you will be able to adjust your settings just like in any other slot game you might have played before. The transition between the retro and modern aspects of the game is quite smooth, making BigFroot a real design prowess.
Easy as Pie
In BigFroot, you have 5 reels and 25 paylines to bet on. This gives you a standard betting range from 0.25 to 31.25 credits per turn. Use the command bar to pick a wager and spin the reels, with the possibility to customise both the size of your wager and the coin value. You can also access a separate settings menu on the side to review the rules and turn on the autoplay mode.
BigFroot has a rather high volatility, at least on paper. The game is theoretically less inclined to drop frequent small cash prizes compared to others, but that wasn’t really our experience when we tested it. In fact, we were surprised to realise how dynamic BigFroot actually was, with frequent winning combinations appearing on the reels. The paytable contains some card icons, as well as the usual grapes, lemons and other fruit symbols. You can win up to 200 times your wager at once, if you are lucky – which is a little less than we had expected, to be honest.
Spot the Creature
Fortunately for the players, the Saucify team wasn’t stingy when it came to designing bonus features for BigFroot. The creature that gave its name to the game can show up at any time to play the role of the wild card and replace other symbols on the reels, while doubling their value. Wild combinations are rare, but worth up to 5000 times your line bet. The smiley face, which is even rarer, is a scatter. Finding 3 or more of them awards up to 50 times your total wager instantly, which can amount to quite a lot of credits in the end.
The blender symbol is yet another scatter symbols in BigFroot. Combinations can award up to 15 free spins to the lucky gamblers out there. While in free game mode, all rewards that you score are multiplied by 2 by default. One more reason to stay focused and keep an eye out for these rarer symbols.
The Plot Thickens
BigFroot is quite unique as far as design and game universe go. If we just look at the gameplay, however, we may be able to find some other games that work in basically the same way. Take Ghosts Of Christmas by Playtech, for instance. This fun and spooky game features almost the exact same bonus features as BigFroot, multipliers included.
Another good choice for any player who enjoyed BigFroot would be Mega Moolah from Microgaming. With a low, 88.12% RTP and a medium volatility, the game is the perfect kind of challenge for the most ambitious gamblers out there. Besides, you will find the same bonus features as BigFroot here as well.
Ready to Conquer the Market
BigFroot plays the originality card with a total retro look, and the result is just fascinating. We loved the look of the game, just as much as the possibilities offered by the gameplay. The betting range might not be as large as it could have been, but BigFroot is still clearly a game worth trying.
The range of bonus features available in BigFroot is also fairly impressive, especially the many multipliers. In conclusion, we would strongly urge you to check out BigFroot. Chances are you will fall in love with that quirky little slot game just like we did, and perhaps even win and few big cash prizes on the reels.
