On the Road Again
Once again, Spade Gaming is betting on simplicity to attract players to the reels. Highway Fortune is played on a classic set of reels floating over an empty blue background. The metallic frame that surrounds the screen and the command bar makes it look vaguely like a dashboard as well.
As a result of such simplicity, it is mostly the reel symbols that will draw the eye of the players in Highway Fortune. We could have used a different background and / or speeding effects as in many other similar games such as Need For Spin by World Match, though.
On the practical side, Highway Fortune works very straightforwardly: 5 reels with 9 fixed paylines and a pop-up menu on the left to let you choose your bet settings. You can bet from 0.10 with the option to adjust the individual coin value and bet 1, 2 or 3 coins per spin. This clearly does not give players a very large range of options, besides activating the turbo mode for a faster game. Hold down the regular spin button and you will be able to access the autoplay game mode at once.
As we tested Highwat Fortune, we could confirm that small cash prizes were quite easy to land throughout the game. Big wins are a different story, and the paytable contains truck parts like engines or tires and 3 colourful trucks at the top. Overall, the basic game contains some very interesting prizes with a x10,000 jackpot readily available.
Double Your Rewards
Highway Fortune stays quite classic in terms of bonus features, which are nonetheless extremely helpful. The big red truck is the wild card, for instance, which can replace the basic symbols on the reels at any time. Besides helping you winning more frequent cash prizes, the wild truck also doubles the value of each of the combinations that it helps complete.
The angel wing symbols, on the other hand, are scatters that can trigger extra cash prizes anywhere they land on the reels. You can win up to 100 times your total bet thanks to them, which is one more excellent reason to play all-in whenever possible in Highway Fortune.
The Perfect Choice for Gamblers with a Speed Addiction
Highway Fortune starts off as very simple and a little boring, but it turned to be more entertaining than we would have expected. There are very generous prizes available right from the base game. The bonus features are classic but proved very useful as we tested the game, especially the relatively common wild trucks and their x2 multiplier.
Overall, Highway Fortune is really fun to play and featuring a gameplay somewhat reminiscent of some Microgaming lots such as Vinyl Countdown, just to name one, and with the exact same ultra-low volatility.
