Full of Golden Delight
The wide smile of the gold hunter on the loading page really will make you smile, especially as he seems happy even though he’s accompanied by a vulture. The light-hearted tone means you’re grinning before you even get to the game. The relaxed vibe continues with the layout which is bright and colourful but not too flashy. Set underground in the mines, its dominated by the brown wooden shafts and rail tracks.
Dominated but not overpowering though. The top left of the screen has the name of the game flashing up (next to sparkling diamonds and money bag) with the top right telling you what you need for the jackpot. Between these are the regular messages telling you what you can win on the bonuses in the game, including the 3 jackpots on offer.
Add in the bright colours of the paylines either side of the reels and green and orange buttons below and it’s clear that some thought has gone into the visuals.
Not That Kind of Gold Digger
One of the best features of this 5-reel 25 payline game is the betting variety on offer. The paylines are on either side of the reels, with diagrams on each on the Paytable. If you’re feeling confident of a gold rush, you can hit Bet Max for 250 credits but there’s plenty of flexibility if you don’t. Clicking on Lines enables you to pick any odd number between 1 and 25. On Credits/Line you are allowed to play for any number between 0.25 and 25.00.
There is an Autoplay section with gives you the option of 5, 10, 25, 50 or 100 spins. You can also adjust the volume. There isn’t a faster option which is a pity. But while that is lacking, the symbols have plenty going for them. There are no Aces, Kings, Queens and Jacks here.
All the 9 regular pictures relate to the game’s theme. This includes bags of gold, cart and pick, as well as more outside the box thinking with a cobweb and a skull. While all have their own sound and visual when on a winning line, the laughing miner is worth up to 25,000, more than double the diamonds next in line. Well they do say laughter is good for you.
Once, Twice, Three Times a Jackpot
There might not be a Wildcard, but there’s plenty more to get busy with. If you get 3 of the very explosive TNT dynamite Scatter you get the choice of either 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, 15, 20 or 25 free spins. This happens through a Bonus Game where you choose between 3 mines. Some rock hitting later and the cart comes back with your reward.
As advertised throughout on the rolling screen box with the possible amounts, the three jackpots are on offer. This is through the exciting Jackpot Game. You’ll feel as though you’re on a gameshow and have just answered a question correctly. You get to spin a wheel 3 times, going from a larger wheel to 2 smaller ones. The new paytable of 8 possible rewards, ranging from the 2,000 credits you can get through getting a diamond, to the 20 you can get with a cash bag.
But that’s just the paytable. Within those 3 spins you can win the Diamond, Gold or Silver Jackpots by getting 3 of a kind. The Diamond prize is 3 larger diamonds, the Gold reward is 3 gold bars and Silver is 3 silver bars. While Diamond offers 4 figures and Gold a higher 4 figures you’ll be looking for that silver lining of a very useful 5 figure amount.
There’s so much to like here. The graphics though far from modern are really appealing with plenty of thought into making this a fun themed game, with the bonuses tying in to that. The bonus feature really does add something extra both in terms of prizes and originality. Whether you do hit any of the jackpot, you’ll already have struck gold with this game.
