Bright Lights and Exotic Delights
As hinted at by the game’s name, 3 Genies really does have an exotic, eastern vibe. That’s immediately obvious from its introduction which gives you a preview of the icons and an idea of what the bonuses are. While the genie is prominent here, he doesn’t dominate the game’s visual feel. Instead it goes for the delightful orange yellow and pink skies and dome buildings. It sure does look bright and alluring.
The hypnotic sound really helps. While too many games have generic background noise, or sometimes none at all, the exotic tones here set the scene. The game’s name at the top of the screen is replaced at various points by notice of the offers when playing. The buttons at the bottom are incredibly subtle. The plus and minus buttons represent quite a lot of the changes you can make and the setting button is as small as you will see anywhere.
Wish to Play?
You can play up to 10 credits per line, with your choice of whatever number you want within that. The Coin Value is in dollars and is for 0.01, 0.03, 0.05, 0.10, 0,20 and 0.50. Those numbers certainly aren’t as high as others you’ll see about, but it does mean you can have a lot of fun without spending as much. The fact that the paylines are fixed at 50 (diagrams of each available within the Paytable) may seem rigid, but it will allow you to start the game quicker.
As the range isn’t too high, it’s not surprising that there isn’t a Max Button, but there is an Autoplay button and that has a full range. You can’t choose an individual number, but you’re more than well-served by options of 10, 20, 30, 50, 70, 100, 500 and even 1,000 spins. It’s nice to see there is a Quick Spin setting, which, though fast, does still enable you to enjoy the neat victory moves from each payline.
It’s always a little disappointing when not all the symbols relate to the theme of the game, but the Ace, King, Queen and Jack are all have different bright colours and fit in well visually. The 3 human characters are worth the most, and it’s nice to animals represented too, in the form of a parrot and monkey. The top prize of 300 credits may not be that high, but each of the 9 symbols will pay out even on 3 of a kind, adding to the impressive 96.53% payout rate.
Wild About the Genie and Bonuses
The genie is the Wildcard, and as well as being worth up to 400 credits, replaces everything except for the Scatter symbol. It’s also the best symbol when you win, as Wild shows up in big gold letters, and magical golden energy comes out of his hands. While there are plenty of chances of getting them on the main game as they’re available on each reel, they aren’t available on the Free Spins.
And you can’t have wishes from a genie without a lamp! The Scatter appears on reels 1, 3 and 5 during the main game and generate a very rewarding Bonus Feature. Adding to the excitement is the fact that if you get the first 2 available lamps, the golden lights flash up in excitement in the final reel. This is the case even if you play on the faster spin, and whether you win or lose.
During the bonus game, the visuals make a nice transition to blue smoke and an apparent gap in the sky, with 3 options. Amusingly, though there are 3 to choose from, you can actually win one of 4 prizes. You can get up a High Award of between x10 and x500 your total bet (yes please!), a Small Award of x1 your total bet or Raining Wilds or Sticky Wilds. Raining Wilds gives 10 free spins with Wilds added in random positions before being removed at the start of the next free spin. Sticky Wilds gives 6 free spins, with the random wilds staying for all the free spins.
There may not be as wide a range of betting options, but that only adds to this game’s charm. It’s super fun and easy to play, with great bonuses, neatly set out rewards and a well presented overall theme. You couldn’t wish for much better.
