You might sense a bit of a mysterious aura around the release of Yggdrasil Gaming’s new release, as Empire Fortune is a game that was delayed countless times prior to its actual launch. As you can guess, when delays like this occur, rumours begin to swirl.

Generally, whenever a new tech product has its release date pushed back, it’s because the developer is still working through bugs in the system. That’s good news for us, because we can expect that this means that the game likely has some very high-level playing mechanics.

Ruling an Empire

It’s hard for us to make any real judgment on the theme of Empire Fortune, as the game does tend to be a little confused in appearance. What we were able to ascertain from its UI is that Yggdrasil Gaming appears to have crafted a game themed around Asia and the character of the joker. If our assumption is right, this real money slots release shares some UI similarities with the well-known and liked Jokeriser slot.

The actual symbols used are the standard offerings, just with a high-end upscale. The production values in Empire Fortune are actually pretty good, even by our lofty standards.

Laying down a Wager

The big excitement surrounding the release delay of Empire Fortune all centered on the fact that players were wondering what exactly the developer had to tweak before launch. From what we’ve seen, they may very well have been working on the gameplay, as what’s offered up in this medium variance release is actually pretty enjoyable.

Twenty paylines, 5 reels, and 3 rows, Empire Fortune uses this to allow for some fast paced play, even if the betting structure is a bit all over the place, with a min bet of 0.20 and a max bet of 100.00.

Effortless Execution

Helping the silky smooth gameplay of Empire Fortune tick along is an impressive set of controls. Yggdrasil Gaming has really nailed down real money slots controls, arguably better than any other casino software developer around in our eyes.

Splashed across the bottom of the screen is a bespoke control panel that puts forward pretty much every button you need to tweak the experience. From wager alteration to spinning the reels, it can all be done within Empire Fortune in just a click or two.

Spinning the Wheel

Prior to launch, the casino forums were abuzz regarding what Empire Fortune would feature as far as bonuses were concerned. Perhaps it would include some kind of mini-game that could lead to bigger wins or bonus rounds for the game. Maybe there are more variables for you to choose from during game play, with layers and complexities never used before.

It seems that the predictions weren’t too far off the pace, as Empire Fortune is pretty loaded on the bonus front. Hold features, free spins features, and an incredibly unique jackpot wheel really do work to push this game over the top. Yes, this game does lack a dedicated mini-game, but that isn’t too big of a negative in our eyes considering everything else that this game brings to the table.

Rule the World with Empire Fortune!

Yggdrasil Gaming certainly generated a huge amount of curiosity for this game, as the consistent delays only added to the hype. As such, by the time it hit shelves, many expected Empire Fortune to be pretty much the perfect real money slots game. Sadly, this game just falls short to living up the pre-release momentum, but that is by no means saying that this is a bad game, as it’s actually pretty good.

Realistically, the delays in the launch of Empire Fortune didn’t help matters, but that hasn’t stopped it from becoming one of our favourite online slots releases of the moment!
