The 5 reels contain just 10 fixed paylines, with a short betting range going from 0.10 to 20 credits per turn. The rules are simple in Wicked Circus, but the possibilities for customisation sadly limited. You can choose to collect your reward immediately and stick to the regular game mode, or try your luck a little further. Each spin costs 20 credits while in Jokerizer mode, and landing 2 joker symbols awards a mystery win that can go up to 6,000 credits. Note that you can access this mystery prize from the base game as well, but you will need 3 joker symbols to do so.

Moreover, 2 jokers appearing in Jokerizer mode initiate the hold function; the reels featuring a joker are held in position and the others can be spun again, for 60 credits. You can collect your earnings at any time, or the hold feature will end automatically once you have collected 5 jokers.

A Great Start for a Game That Lacks a Little Ambition

Wicked Circus is like a cousin of The Dark Joker Rizes, with virtually the same gameplay and betting range. The main differences lie in the background, as we have moved from a mysterious underground location to a creepy circus.

Overall, we wished that Wicked Circus were a little more ambitious and allowed larger bets to be placed on the reels. The Jokerizer mode does increase your chances of winning, but not enough to make it really interesting. Yggdrasil slots always manage to rise to the top thanks to their graphic quality and originality, but we felt that Wicked Circus was probably one of their weakest titles.
