Hoot Loot Slot Review
There are roughly about 200 different species of owl that can be found around the world, most of which are solitary and nocturnal birds of prey. Of course, when we think of owls, we think of large eyes, broad head, feathers and sharp talons, although there are exceptions to this general rule of appearance where this animal is concerned. They don’t often get thought of so frequently for the basis behind online slot games, although thanks to High 5 Games, they are featured as the main character in their game entitled, Hoot Loot. In this game, you’ll be taken to the middle of the forest, where night skies have taken over all proceedings, providing the owl with its natural, nocturnal active time. The reels themselves are presented in the format of tree trunks, while the incorporated soundtrack sounds like something which would be included in a children’s television show. Everything has been designed with the utmost attention to detail, including high quality icons and display, while the inclusive features are also just as intriguing. So, if you’re ready to have a hooting good time, get yourself into playing this one!
The Owl and His Friends
This product from High 5 Games is presented to players on a pretty average layout – that being five reels and three rows large. So, this is nothing particularly unique or alternate to the norm. However, it’s upon these reels that you’ll find the various different icons of the game, and these start with the lower paying four icons of forestry items. These are the pile of brown leaves for the first icon, while the second is represented by the three raspberries. There’s also some very interestingly coloured toadstools, while a bear’s paw print makes up the fourth symbols. These are joined by some slightly higher paying icons in the form of an owl’s nest of eggs, as well as a spiky hedgehog. Other animal symbols added to the reels start with the coy-looking fox, followed up by the crazy elk. There’s also a bear digging his paw into a pot of honey, while the remaining symbol is of a vulture.
There’s also the addition of 20 different pay lines, which merge well into the game alongside the reels, rows and symbols. You do have the chance to adjust these though, if you have a preference to do so. This is done by using the up and down arrows to the right of the ‘Lines’ box. Furthermore, you can switch around the amount of the wager that you place per spin, which is done by adjusting the coin value per line between $0.01 and $10. This allows a maximum overall wager of $200 per round to be placed.
Hoot, Hoot! Plenty of Specials to See!
While this game doesn’t provide players with as many special features as what can be found in other products offered by this developer, it has one or two nice additions to make game play more exciting on the whole. The first of these extra perks is the wild symbol, and this is represented by the game’s own logo. As a wild, it will act as a stand in for all other icons, except for the safe icon. Should five of the wild icons come into view on a winning and active pay line, you’ll be on the receiving end of a maximum pay out of 20,000 coins.
The aforementioned safe icon is another special feature of this game, and this is what will activate the ‘Hoos Safe Bonus Initiation’ round. You’ll need to spin three of these in to any position on reels one, three and five. Then, you’ll be required to select one of the safe icons. Doing so will show a credit value of the selected one, which is awarded to your balance, and following this, the round comes to an end. Values shown on the game screen will have also been multiplied by the total initiating bet.
Finally, there’s the ‘Hoot Line Feature’, which you’ll see from the moment you start spinning the reels. This is a separate bonus pay line, which is composed of matching ‘Hoot’ symbols in any position from left to right. These ‘Hoot’ symbols are indicated in the hoot line box below the reels. A line win on this is multiplied by the displayed multiplier as well.
Reels of Plenty
It may appear to be a little less interesting than some of the other High 5 Games products upon first glance, but Hoot Loot is actually one of our favourite offerings from them. It’s unique in its own way, has some very compelling speciality features, and not only that, but it still maintains a great level of graphics and general game play.
