The Amazon rainforest is a huge area of forest land that covers most of the Amazon basin of South America. This mass of land encompasses 7,000,000 square kilometres, of which 5,500,000 square kilometres are covered by the rainforest. Nine different nations sit inside this basin, with the majority of it being located in Brazil. It is with this particular rainforest in mind that High 5 Games decided to produce the online video slot entitled Princess of Paradise. Playing this game will instantly transport you into a world of tall trees, jungle sounds and monsoon-like rains, which all come together to form a lush, green hideaway. It’s here that you’ll be on the look out for the various different rainforest animals, as well as the mythical Amazonian princess, who keeps everything in the jungle in check. Be careful, because she also wields a spear which can do some serious harm, so you’ll need to approach quietly and watch her from a distance. Not only that, but as you make your way through the vegetation, you’ll have the opportunity to find some big rewards.

The Green, Green Leaves of Home

You’ll notice that this game is played against a backdrop of lush, green leaves – part of the jungle’s mass of trees. The layout itself comprises five reels and three rows, and it’s upon these reels that you’ll also get to view the different symbols. These include the often used A, J, K and Q icons to begin with, but the rest of them are a lot more theme-relative. The first of the higher paying icons is of a beautifully coloured parrot, while a zebra (which is actually an African plains animal) makes up a second symbol, and a jaguar provides the third. An ape makes up the fourth icon incorporated into Princess of Paradise, while the titular character makes up the final one.

Further to this, you’ll discover that the developer has added a total of 30 separate pay lines into the game, although, if you are the sort of player who enjoys adjusting this particular feature, High 5 Games have made it possible to do so. In addition, you can customise the amount of the bet that you place per spin as well, and this is done by altering the bet placed per line. Here, you can choose from a value of between the minimum of $0.01 and the maximum of $10 per line, which will therefore allow a maximum overall wager of $300 to be played across all 30 lines.

Watch Out for the Princess!

While you’re out in the middle of the rainforest, you might want to take advantage of a few special features to make this game a little more interesting. For example, there’s the inclusion of a wild icon, which is represented by the game’s logo. Should this make an appearance on the reels, it will substitute for all other icons, with the exception of the scatters. Not only that, but the higher paying icons can also appear as double symbols, and a single wild will also substitute for one of these. Five wilds on a winning pay line offer a maximum pay out of 10,000 coins.

As noted, a scatter symbol is included in the game as well, and this is represented by the yellow-coloured water lily. This icon can also appear as a double symbol, and whenever four of them show up in any location on the reels, you’ll receive a pay out of double the amount you have wagered. Scatters can only appear on reels two, three and four.

There’s another feature of the scatter icon though, and that’s the fact that it is able to trigger the freespins round. You’ll need to spin a combination of three double icons or two double and a single scatter into any position on the reels in order to activate this. Three of the double scatters offer up 10 freespins, while the two doubles and one single will reward you with five freespins. The freespins round is also played on different reels, and with different icons, such as the chimpanzee, the hippo, the giraffe and the flamingo.

Visit the Jungle

Apart from its inability to completely provide icons of animals which actually do exist in the Amazon rainforest, this game is a nice offering from High 5 Games. The special features are well incorporated and, as always, the developer has integrated some very high quality graphics into it.
