Monster Alert

There are far more scary monsters than the ones you will see in this slot game. It’s always good when the game has a bit of humour attached to it. There’s nothing better than having a laugh while winning some money.

This is a five-reel game that has three rows of symbols and a total of 40 pay-lines. That’s a fixed amount so you don’t have any decisions to be making over how many to play on each spin of the reels. You do have to decide your stake and how many coins you wish to play (1-10). That makes this game a little bit more expensive to play so make sure you work out a budget you are comfortable with. The minimum cost of playing is €0.40 and the maximum €200.

So, to the actual monsters and they turn out just to be some rather strange looking toys owned by a child. When they’re not looking, the toys come alive and rather than wreaking havoc like ‘Chucky’, they fancy some singing and dancing. There’s a roller-skating mummy, a werewolf, a witch, a scarecrow pimp (how do they think these things up?), a cocktail, a pair of platform shoes and a goldfish. The two highest paying symbols are Zombie Elvis (so that’s where he got to) and the Boogie Monsters logo. The good news with those two is that just a couple of matching symbols will get you a win.

Rather surprisingly there’s no wild symbol in this game. You’d think at least one of these Boogie Monsters would show some wild tendencies, perhaps they’re just pussycats at heart. The absence of a wild symbol makes it a little bit more difficult to get winning combinations so you’re thankful for those two symbols that just require a couple to get a win.

The good news though is that there are two scatter symbols in this game. That’s the lava lamp and the Fat Bat. As you’ll read shortly, these both activate separate features that can help boost your account balance.

Five of the Boogie Monster logo symbols win you the top prize of 5000x your coin stake. Other big wins include 1000x for five Elvis symbols and 750x for four Boogie Monster logos.

This isn’t too difficult a game to play with all the control buttons down the bottom of the screen. It is an idea to check the rules before playing for real and have some free games too.

Fat Bat Bonus

Keep an eye out for the Fat Bat scatter symbol. If you can get three or more of them appear on adjacent reels then that triggers the Fat Bat Bonus game. It’s of the Pick ’em variety and all you have to do is choose items in the hope of revealing bats. If you do that wins you cash prizes.
Spin that Lamp

Let the Lava Flow

The Lava Lamp scatter symbol is also important as it can help get you some free spins. To get them you have to get three or more of the Lava Lamp symbols end up on adjacent reels. This gives you 13 free spins which may or may not be an unlucky number for you. You’ll certainly be hoping that some wins do come along because any you do get during the free spins are subject to an impressive 5x multiplier so here’s hoping. Even better news is that you can re-trigger the free spins if those scatters arrive again. It’s not possible to trigger the Fat Bat Bonus during this one though.

In Conclusion

This is another slot from Microgaming that is a joy to play. It has a great theme that will put a smile on your face and there are plenty of ways of getting a win. Definitely recommended and you’ll love the 70s-style soundtrack.
