Brazil has been the focus of attention for a while now thanks to its hosting of the World Cup, the Olympics and the Paralympics. I won’t be telling you anything new by declaring that Brazil certainly knows how to throw a good party and that’s what this slot from Microgaming is all about.

Let The Party Begin

When attending a Brazilian Carnaval (that’s how they spell it honest), you know a good time is guaranteed. Beautiful girls, amazing costumes that don’t always cover everything they should and fantastic music. This is a colourful slot game that definitely puts a big smile on my face whenever I play it. The soundtrack might just drive you crazy if playing for a long while, so thankfully there is a mute button available.

‘Carnaval’ is a five-reel game that has a total of three rows of entertaining symbols. Just the nine paylines for you to try and win some money on. Playing the game will cost you between £0.01 and £90, it’s up to you to decide your stake and how many of the paylines you want to activate. Go for as many as you can afford. This isn’t one of those games where you can just activate one payline and still be in with a chance of getting into the bonus game. That’s because there isn’t one here. Just work out a budget you can afford to play at and enjoy the game. Wins are paid from left to right in this game.

Colourful Carnaval Symbols

Symbols in this slot game include a trumpet, the colourful Carnaval logo, a banner with a character representing the sun, a clown in a hat and the ten to Ace playing cards. At least they get in the act and have a splash of colour about them.

It’s the Carnaval logo that can really have you celebrating as five of those on an activated payline can win you 5000x your line stake, by far the largest win in this game. That’s what you’ll be chasing from the moment you start playing the game.

The wild symbol here is the Carnaval Headdress. Now this has the ability to substitute for other symbols in the game and as a result get you a winning combination. It’s not as easy to do that as in some games though. That’s because this wild only appears on the second, third and fourth reels, so don’t go looking for it on the first and fifth. Nor can it substitute for the scatter symbol which is a little disappointing as there’s no bonus game on offer here.

Which is the scatter symbol? Well it’s the colourful symbol that has Scatter written on it in yellow. Perhaps the creative department had a lot on that day and rushed through this one. No bonus game for it to activate but it can give you a win if the required number appear anywhere on the reels. Five of them gives you a 50x your total stake so that’s well worth winning.

You can play the game in either regular or expert mode, totally your choice. There’s not that much difference between the two really unless you’re a big autoplay fan.  In the expert mode you can set 5x or 10x automated spins but you’re much better off using themore complex autoplay feature. With this you can set the spins so they stop if your balance reaches a certain level (good or bad) or if a big win comes along that you definitely don’t want to be putting at risk.

All the control buttons for this game are down at the bottom and this is an easy game to operate. Even so have a look at the paytable and game rules so you know as much as you can about the game befoe starting to pummp some real cash into it. Try to have some free games too just to see how the game runs.

No Brazilian Bonus

Love free spins? Well unfortunately you’ll have to look elsewhere for those delights. There’s nohere bonus game here and the main task here is just to keep hoping some good wins come your way and keep that account balance of yours ticking over nicely.

Final Thoughts

Brazil has lots to offer what with all the sun, beaches and beautiful views but a bonus game would be appreciated to. This is a colourful game but does look a bit dated. It’s worth a brief play and you certainly won’t be moaning if the jackpot flies your way.
