Woodland Wonders

There are many themes that can be used for slot games and fairies do tend to get used a fair bit. Lots of adventures going on in that forest and if the right symbols come along then you will find yourself celebrating.

The three-reel games that Microgaming produce are in no way as sophisticated as the five-reel ones. These simpler games do pay homage to those machines you used to see in the pubs, clubs and amusement arcades and it’s a format that is still successful. They are also ideal games for those of you who are new to slot world and fancy something a bit easy to play before dealing with multipliers, expanding wilds and free spins.

The big bonus with this game is that it has a fantastic look to it. The background shows the forest, all green at the top and the colourful look continues lower down the screen. That’s where the Fairy Ring logo can be seen in bright yellow. Either side of it are red flowers, more greenery and some toadstools and mushrooms. Only one problem though, where the heck is the fairy?

Fairy Frolics

There are three symbols that are theme related which isn’t bad for a three-reel slot. We get a butterfly, a toadstool and finally the fairy makes an appearance. We also get the single bar, double bar and triple bar which are the lower paying symbols in this game.

The fairy is also the wild in this game and can substitute for all other symbols to hopefully get you a winning combination on either of the three pay-lines. Unlike in some games of this nature there is no multiplier attached to any winning combinations the wild creates.

The game can be played in regular or expert mode. Not much difference but in expert mode you are able to set an autoplay feature. You can either go for just the five or ten automated spins or decide to press the autoplay button. This allows you to set a far more precise figure. Here you can arrange for the spins to stop if a certain balance figure is reached or if a good win comes along that you definitely don’t want to risk losing.

It’s easy to set your stake for this game but you do have a couple of important decisions to make. First you must work out your coin stake and if you want to be playing all three pay-lines the minimum cost of doing so is €0.75 and the maximum €15.

Three of the toadstool symbols on an activated pay-line will pay you 150x your coin stake and a trio of butterflies 300x. There aren’t that many of them on the reels and you will find that you’ll get a lot of wins from the bars. The top win from those is 80x for three of the triple bars. You will find that there will be a fair number of small wins come along but even three of any kind of bar wins you 7x your coin stake.

Choosing to play all three pay-lines is the only way that you’ll be able to win the top prize in this game. That’s because the largest available prize is 5000x your coin stake if three of the fairies turn up on the third pay-line. That’s an added incentive as three fairies on the first pay-line pay 1500x and on the second 3000x. Be careful chasing this big win and only stake what you can afford to lose.

In Conclusion

This is another entertaining slot game from Microgaming. It’s one of the most colourful three-reel games that I’ve seen. Three theme-related symbols are always welcomed and there are some good wins to be had here. An ideal game to play if you’re new to playing slots and definitely worth a try for its top prize.
