If you’re looking for a slot that is going to bring back memories of the games that were played in days gone by, then ‘Grand 7’s’ does the job brilliantly. It’s a three-reel slot from Microgaming with a top prize of 2500x your coin stake.

Everything about this game is straightforward and simple, if you’re hunting for a slot that’s full of special features then this isn’t for you, but don’t let that put you off as it’s still a fun and potentially profitable game to play.

7’s Up

As with a lot of things in this world, everything seemed to be so much more simple in what some of us like to call the good old days. Slot games definitely fall into that category. There weren’t all these animated symbols that take your breath away, no bonus games, we were in ecstacy if a game had a nudge or hold feature.

‘Grand 7’s’ is a perfect recreation of how games looked in the past. The background to the game is all blue and the Grand 7’s logo can be seen in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. The Grand is in silver with gold lining and the 7’s in red. Nothing special but basic is the name of the game here.

Seventh Heaven

It’s the same when we get to the reels that are in the top left-hand corner of the screen. Nothing too fancy just symbols there to do their job and hopefully win you some great cash prizes.

We get a collection of symbols that are familiar to anyone who has played similar retro games. The lowest paying symbol is the cherry and this pays either 2x, 4x or 6x your coin stake, depending on how many coins you have staked on that particular spin of the reels, more about that in a moment.

Other symbols are the single, double and triple bars and then we get the blue 7’s and the red 7’s. Not the most exciting set of symbols you’ll see when playing slot games but they do their job.

Unlike a fair few of the Microgaming three-reel games, this one doesn’t have a wild symbol. That’s a bit disappointing really because sometimes you need all the help you can get to achieve some winning combinations.

The cost of playing this game depends on the coin range you choose and then how many of those coins you decide to play. The coin range goes from €0.25 up to €5. Once you’ve worked out your coin range, your next task is to decide how many coins to play on each spin.

If you want to be winning the top prize in this game, then you have to be playing with all three coins. The top paying symbol is the red 7’s and three of those on the single pay-line pays 500x your coin stake if using just one coin, 1000x with two coins but a tempting 2500x if all three coins are in play. Therefore, if you want to be in with a chance of winning the top prize, the minimum stake is €0.75 and the maximum €15.

To set the stake for this game, simply use the + and – buttons and then keep pressing Bet One or Bet Max to play with three coins. As I’ve mentioned, this is a fairly straightforward game. If you are new to slot games then this is an ideal introduction. Play this, have some fun and then move onto the more complex games when you have some experience under your belt. If you do need any assistance with the rules, just click the Help button and the game rules come up in a different window.

You can set some automated spins of the reels by playing in expert mode. This allows you to either set just 5x or 10x or set a more precise number by pressing the autoplay button. For example, you can arrange for the automated spins to stop when your account balance reaches a certain figure.

Final Words

A rather straightforward slot from Microgaming. No wild or bonus game, just a case of spinning the reels and hoping for the best. It’s ideal for newcomers or those who want a break from all the complicated games out there.
