Nursery rhymes are all part of our childhood and it’s no surprise that they are often used as a theme for slot games. Microgaming have definitely latched onto that idea and produced a ‘Rhyming Reels’ series of games that also includes ‘Old King Cole’ and ‘Hearts & Tarts.’

It’s a rather simple but tragic tale is Jack and Jill. A lovely day going up a hill ends with a bit of a fall and a series of injuries but it’s a little bit different here.

A More Adult Approach

While the original nursery rhyme was a rather innocent tale, this slot game has a little bit more of an adult theme. Looking at Jill in this game, the last thing on her mind when going up that hill is to get some water. There’s a lot of love flowing in this game with hearts in the background and it’s clear that this Jack and Jill are head over heels in love with each other.

There are five reels in this game with three rows of symbols and 20 pay-lines on which to get some tasty wins. You don’t have to play all 20 of the pay-lines if you don’t want to but if that is your aim then the minimum cost of doing so is just €0.20 and the maximum cost of a spin is €100, simply select a stake that you can afford to lose.

What is Jill Wearing?

Now I’ve seen a few nursery rhyme books in my time but I don’t remember Jill being dressed as she is in this slot game. One symbol has Jill with her top off and her underwear is hanging on the well. Don’t get too excited though because her hands are hiding her most important assets. We also get to see Jack falling over, a first aid kit (not quite brown paper and vinegar) and an image of Jack and Jill together. The two stars of this slot also appear in separate symbols.

The Jack and Jill logo is the wild symbol here and plays a really important role in the game. It can substitute for other symbols to complete winning combinations. Also there’s the scatter symbol which is the bucket of water. The way these two are behaving they need that chucked over them. This is a key symbol in the game as it helps get you into the bonus game and can’t be substituted by the wild symbol. Five of the scatter symbols anywhere on the reels will pay you 10,000x your bet.

Easy to Play

Playing this game won’t cause you any problems at all. The operating buttons are all down the bottom of the screen. You can play this in either regular or expert mode. What’s the difference? Well it’s the ability to set an autoplay feature. You can set your own number of automated spins if you so wish or just set it to stop when a certain balance is reached or a big win comes along.

Make sure you do some research before beginning to start pumping some real cash into this game. Have a good look through the paytable as there’s lots of useful information here. This includes how much the winning combinations pay, such as five Jack symbols paying 15,000x your line bet and five Jill symbols paying 10,000x (what happened to equality eh?).

Get In a Spin

Keep an eye out for the scatter symbols because three of them anywhere on the reels will get you into the bonus game. The fact it’s anywhere on the reels means you don’t have to be activating all the pay-lines, just one will be enough to get you into the bonus game if those scatters arrive on the reels. Once in the bonus round you’ll have 15 free spins to play with and any wins you get will be subject to a 4x multiplier so this can really be a profitable bonus game and it can be re-triggered leading to even more profits.

Final View from the Hill

Another great slot from Microgaming. The look and sound of it is good and the theme adds an interesting adult theme to the nursery rhyme. Some good wins are available here and the bonus game really can be very lucrative with the quadrupled wins.
