Can you bring home the bacon in this slot game from Microgaming? It’s amazing what these animals can learn isn’t it and here we have a pig who’s pretty useful when it comes to karate.

‘Karate Pig’ has a total of five reels and the rather cartoonish symbols are on three rows. In all there’ 40 pay lines, a decent amount to try and win a decent amount of cash on. If you’re playing the minimum coin stake on all of those pay lines then that works out at just  €0.40. There’s a wide stake range here going all the way up to €200 so high rollers will be pleased with that figure. That shouldn’t create too many problems in finding a stake level you can play at without causing yourself any financial problems.

There’s plenty of humour in this game, well with it being called ‘Karate Pig’ it was hardly going to be a serious looking game was it? You’ll really appreciate the work that has been put into the symbols. There’s a muscle-bound buffalo, a fat lady playing a stringed instrument, a wolf that has a beard, a golden Buddha, one of those waving cats that seem to be in every charity shop, a bonsai tree, some sushi and a small bear.  Lots of theme-related symbols is good to see and not a sign of any fruit or playing card symbols.

Wild Pig on the Menu

The top prize in the regular game is for getting five of the wild symbols which pays out 10000x your coin stake, certainly a case of bringing home the bacon. The wild is the Karate Pig Logo, well he’d have given you a nasty chop if he hadn’t been given this special privilege.  This can sub for other symbols to get you winning combinations but not the pig and gold coin bonus symbols. The wild is stacked so lots of chances of it getting you wins.

The game can be played in either regular or expert mode. The latter allows you to have an autoplay feature. Also available are a collection of stats including details of your largest win.

There’s a fair bit happening in this game so make sure you look through the paytable. A bit of research before putting some real cash into the slot can really help you. Having some free games is going to be really helpful too.

Bonuses Aplenty

Three pigs (not little ones that’s a totally different game) gets you into the Karate Bonus game and this can be really lucrative if your luck is in. The target in this game is to acquire all seven of the differently coloured karate belts. How do you do that? Well it’s time to play the Pork Chop bonus (sadly not accompanied by some potatoes and veg). I wonder if the pig knows what a Pork Chop is?

You need to pick three of the barrels that are hanging above the pigs head. If the hero of our slot can bring those barrels down with a karate chop then a prize is revealed. Also look out for the Hammer Bonus where this amazing pig has to headbutt a taro again revealing a prize. This stops when the poor little pig gets stunned and the RSPCA are notified.

If your luck is in then you’ll get hold of those seven belts. Once that’s been achieved then it’s time for the Final Showdown.  Seconds away for a three-round fight. Before each round you have to choose one of two punch combinations. If you win then more bonuses are on their way to you, lose and the bonus round comes to an end.

Fans of free spins will be delighted to read that 15 of them are on their way to you if the gold coin ends up on the first and fifth reels. All wins are doubled during the free spins round and there’s the chance to re-trigger those free spins.

The Final Chop

A really busy game and there’s barely a quiet moment while playing ‘Karate Pig.’ The game has a great look and sound to it and the bonus games really do give you the chance to win some great cash prizes.
