There’s nothing fishy about this game. Simply play ‘Reel Spinner’ from Microgaming, spin those reels and hope you can land some big winning combinations to boost that account balance of yours.

Animals certainly do provide slot designers with plenty of ideas for games. This time around we’re all at sea for ‘Reel Spinner’ a rather fishy slot from Microgaming but one that could really get you hooked.

This isn’t about sitting on the edge of a river and hoping to catch something that might give you a decent supper. Instead this is all about deep sea fishing and that ocean is what we see in the background to this game.

This is a five-reel game that has a total of three rows of symbols and 15 pay-lines. You don’t have to play all of the 15 pay-lines on each spin of the reels. It’s entirely up to you just how many pay-lines you activate one each spin. The minimum cost of activating all of them is €0.15 and the maximum €50. Simply make sure that you don’t end up spending cash that you just can’t afford to lose.

Fishy Symbols

There’s no playing card or fruit symbols in this game. For a change all the symbols relate to the theme of the game which is always good to see. There’s a compass, a fishing reel, the fishing boat, its throttle and five different kinds of fish. Now I’m not much of an expert on fish unless they happen to have a bit of batter on them and some chips by their side. They come in a variety of different colours and look a bit scary to be honest. One looks like a goldfish but they live in bowls at funfairs don’t they?

There are some good wins to be had here. Five of the fishing boat gets you 750x your coin stake, five compasses earn you 562.5x the coin stake and five of the reels will bring in 375x the level you’ve staked on that spin. Even the throttle gets you 300x so this is well worth playing.

The wild symbol in this game is the Reel Spinner Logo. You’ll certainly want to catch this on the reels because once hooked it can substitute for other symbols. That can get you some good wins that you wouldn’t otherwise have had. Five of the wild symbols on an activated pay-line will win you 1500x your coin stake.

However, it can’t substitute for the silhouetted swordfish. That’s the scatter symbol in this game and it helps activate the bonus game in this slot.

Playing the game is fairly easy with all the control buttons down the bottom of the screen. This isn’t the most complicated of games but it’s still a good idea to look at the paytable. That gives you all the information about how much the winning combinations play and how the bonus game works.

Free Spins at Sea

If you can get at least three of the silhouetted swordfish scatter symbols (don’t you just love alliteration?), then this triggers the free spins bonus round. You don’t have to be activating all the pay-lines to be able to get into this bonus round, just one will be enough.

Once triggered a second screen comes up that has six boats in view. Your task is to choose one of them to decide how many free spins you’ll be playing with. The maximum number you can get is 20. Then a reel appears and all you have to do is click it and it’ll spin to determine the size of the multiplier you’ll be playing with and this can be as high as 5x.

Your chances of getting winning combinations with those free spins is heightened by stacked wilds. That means the chances of a wild appearing and helping get you a winning combination are greatly increased, so this can be rather lucrative.

Final Fishy Tale

A fairly straightforward game really. If you’re simply looking for a game that has a decent look to it and the chance to get some good wins, then this is it. The stacked wilds really do help in the bonus game and if the boats give you some high free spins then you can really do well, so this is definitely worth a go.
