If you’ve played the vast amount of Netent slot games which are available online, you’ve probably had a go at spinning a few rounds of the ‘Flowers’ slot. Well, when Christmas rolled around, Netent decided that they were going to give a bit of festive cheer to one or two of their products, and in doing so, they created a Christmas edition of the ‘Flowers’ game. While the original version of this is full of sun, bright colours and cheer, this variation on it brings the seasonal spirit right to your screen, offering up a cold, wintry scene, with festive decorations surrounding the reels. You’ll also be able to hear the sound of birds chirping in the background, gathering their stocks of winter food to feast on during the colder months. You’ll also find that all the icons have been dusted with a frosting of snow, ensuring that this game presents you with the right atmosphere and feeling to have you in the Christmas spirit all year round!

Raindrops on Roses…

Well, actually, it’s snow on the roses, but it’s near enough. The game itself is offered up on an interface which is the same as the original version, giving you five reels and three rows worth of a layout. Upon these reels, you’ll find various different types of garden flower, all of which have warped and crazy face to them. So, you’ll find the very dumb-looking bluebell, the wacky sunflower, the vicious-looking venus flytrap, a red rose which is not living up to its namesake as one of the prettiest flowers, and a final pink flower which seems to be hesitant to open its petals. As mentioned, these are not particularly designed in any different way to the icons shown in the original game, save for the dusting of snow on top of them, and they’re all accompanied by snow-topped A, J, K and Q symbols as well.

Furthermore, Netent has provided players with a total of 30 separate pay lines, and these are all fixed in place, so customisation of this particular feature is not possible. However, what is able to be altered is the coin value included in the product, which begins from its minimum of $0.01 and increases up to its maximum of $0.50 per line. Then, there’s also the bet level, which ranges from one right up to five, and if you should have both of these at maximum level, you’ll be able to place a total maximum overall wager of $75 per spin.

A Bit of Floral Christmas Cheer

Being one of Netent’s earlier games, ‘Flowers’ didn’t contain a huge amount of additional extras, and this variation on it isn’t so different. However, what is included in the first instance is a wild icon. This is represented by the chilly winter frost, which has been adorned with Santa’s hat! Wilds will substitute for any other symbol on the reels in order to form a winning combination, except for the freespin and double symbols. There’s also the chance for stacked wilds to appear during the game, resulting in more opportunities to create winning combinations.

Each of the standard flower icons also has a double icon related to it. This is basically an icon with the same image on it, but twice over, and if these appear during a spin, they’ll act as two single symbols, thereby presenting you with a better chance of creating a win.

Freespin icons are also available as both single and double symbols, and these are represented by the smiling wind cloud. Should four or more of these icons appear anywhere on the reels following a spin, you’ll trigger the freespins round. The amount of these that you receive will depends upon the amount of icons showing on the reels, with four presenting you with 10, five offering up 15, six providing 20, seven rewarding you with 25  and eight of them awarding 30 freespins in total. All wins in this round are multiplied by three.

A Wonderful Christmastime!

That’s exactly what you’ll have when you play this game. It’s filled to the brim with festive cheer, and is exactly the right game to be playing during the holiday season. And, if you’re ever missing that time of year, you can just load this game up in the middle of July and transport yourself to a land of snow, gifts, elves and snow-capped flowers.
